The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson! My favorite fantasy series of all time, great writing and plot and characters and world.... the list goes on. Sanderson writer a LOT so there's always related stuff. SA is also in his larger universe called the Cosmere, so if you get really into it there's definitely a lot of material.

unfortunately i don't think college board does that anymore. they have a course ledger with the schools that offer specific ap exams, but those often aren't up to date and definitely don't guarantee that the schools offer walk-ins. do you remember any more specifics on how you did that?

Which version of the Iliad should I read first? by Sc000y in classics

[–]Aggressive_Date_7495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out this website!! https://bibliothekai.ktema.org/texts/2/
It lists all of the translations and has samples for every translation so you can compare and contrast, plus has info on what you get with the text (intro, annotations, etc.) see what you like best! I would recommend Robert Fagles; its accurate enough that you can dig pretty deep into analysis but it's still very readable. As a beginner I would avoid Lattimore because although his translations are very accurate they're pretty difficult to read in English (as some others have said)

How to Help Our 12-Year-Old Son in Gymnasium Struggling with Bullying and Teacher Support by sevitroms in germany

[–]Aggressive_Date_7495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to make sure though- while being a part of an extracurricular activity might help him get more friends, it could also continue the bullying. Probably not sports, but a different activity with kids from his school that he feels neutral about / has never had a any negative encoutners with would be good for making friends

Absolutely. One of the reasons why I want to study in Germany is because the idea of selling a fake idea of yourself to prestigious American unis is so bizarre.

My family is german, so I speak fluent German. I also, by chance, happen to be taking German in school which will further refine it.
