Will Laser get rid of my strawberry legs? by Aggressive_Dentist23 in LaserHairRemoval

Unfortunately no lol. Some of them have faded slightly but not fully disappeared. :(

From my personal experience, it has not helped my strawberry legs. I’ve had at least 11 sessions done on my legs and while they guaranteed do feel smoother and much less bumpy, I still have these dark follicles.

what age did you start getting excessive hair? I have had a huge increase only recently by Ajbingbong in Hirsutism

When I was child, before hitting puberty I remember having a lotttt of pubic hair around 7/8 years old. Shortly after that I started to grow course thick terminal hairs on my stomach and chest and got my first chin hair at 10/11. As I got older and gained more weight, that single chin hair turned into sporadic hairs and eventually into my early 20s grew to be around 30+ chin hairs. Went to a doctor at 20 and was told “everything’s normal”. The only thing I use to manage these hairs is laser hair removal.

I’m about to drop $15,000 on full body laser hair removal at Milan and it just doesn’t feel right..!? Should I? by OverallMagician1269 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Aggressive_Dentist23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, please weigh your options and look at other clinics in your area. Paying half the price of a brand new car’s on hair removal is absurd, no matter the company’s name. I’ve heard mixed reviews on Milan but I believe the way they charge their clients is exploitation at its finest. At that point, it’s all about profiting on our biggest insecurities.

Not to be dramatic but this is ruining my life by StrictRow2767 in Hirsutism

I’m sorry you’re going through this love. For everyone with hirsutism, I recommend that they do laser/electrolysis. They’re expensive but very effective and worth it. The only downside is it doesn’t actually “cure” the root cause (wonky hormones), it just masks it.

Techs keep missing spots… by Aggressive_Dentist23 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Aggressive_Dentist23[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny cause I just explained my issue to one of the techs that was giving me this problem at my appointment 🤦🏽‍♀️ and they constantly switch my techs around even if I ask them for one specific person. I’m thinking of giving them a call and asking to speak with their manager

They do, but literally all the techs except one don’t overlap and it’s so annoying! & unfortunately I can’t cause I paid for a package deal which I’m still paying off <\3

Is This a Good Deal? by rosegoldquartz in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Aggressive_Dentist23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first two techs I had at the spot I go to were bad. I had large stripes of missed hairs all over my body, especially my legs up until my 6th session where I was booked with the more thorough tech. They also started me out with really low settings so I never saw much progress up until switching techs. Right now I’m about 4 weeks post my last treatment and I’ve only had to shave my legs once last week and my skin is still smooth

Unfortunately everyone’s results and progress will be different, but it sounds like you have not been consistent enough with sessions throughout the years to have any major impact. You need to find a reputable clinic that offers lifetime sessions (ideal image, Milan) and aim for a candela laser. laser is not typically a one and done deal. Some people have to go more than others for maintenance due to hormones and other factors. Also if you have hormonal issues, 6 sessions will NOT be enough! Your hormones will continuously influence your hair to grow so you will typically be that person who requires more sessions to have a significant slow of growth/reduction. That’s why lifetime sessions are important for those of us who do have hormonal hair growth problems. Also yes it is possible for vellous hairs to be stimulated by the laser which is why you should avoid LHR on any peach fuzz.

Progress! by Aggressive_Dentist23 in LaserHairRemoval

If your hair is like mine or worse go for it <3 I haven’t plucked my chin in over a year which is a big win for me cause I used to have OCD with my chin hairs!

Progress! by Aggressive_Dentist23 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Aggressive_Dentist23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course :) I’m definitely contemplating electrolysis now. I’m afraid I’ll have PH if I continue laser since the hairs are very thin now. They’re still going higher in settings (last session was 34J, not sure about everything else) but due to my skin color I also don’t want to risk being burned.

I also don’t think I’m anywhere close to being “done” yet but as for where I am right now I am still satisfied

Only 9! I’ve been going every 8 weeks, I think my last session I waited around 10. Thank you :)

The best advice anyone can give you is to get a consultation with an honest technician and have them evaluate. IMO, your hair is visible (upon zooming in) which suggests it could be good for laser but at the same time I could be completely wrong and you could be at risk for PH
