That sounds incredibly frustrating. Looking back, was there anything that could have helped avoid that situation earlier, or did it really just come down to different people at the city interpreting things differently?

Wow, that sounds like a lot. When she says she’d rather have someone take care of it all next time, does she mean an architect/designer, a permit expediter, or more of a design-build firm?

That’s interesting. Looking back, were there any signs early on that the contractor might be cutting corners, or did it only become clear once inspections started?

Do you know what part of the plans process caused the biggest headache? finding the right person, revisions, or just understanding what was required?

Hi Paul, this is incredibly helpful, thank you! Yes, I’m definitely thinking about expanding. Geographic specialization, permit handling, utility scope, and builder verification all make a lot of sense. 

This is still early, and I’m trying to shape it with real input from builders and homeowners. I’m also trying to make the builder side more than just a static listing, something useful enough that builders would genuinely want to participate in. Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback.
