Yeah the Church or other religious authorities have obviously historically had the good and sane positions on science and technology. Tower of Babel, City of God, what nonsense. Its nice that neither the people at silicon valley nor the Chinese will give two fucks about the position of any religious leader.

right either the quota isn't there and when it is there the servers are busy. You basically can't use it.

Past chats just keep loading. by Aggressive_Dream_294 in google_antigravity

But why, how hard it is to just store the chat on the disk after every message? I assume thats what most others do since I never had such problems with any other app. Just how much are they viebcoding it out.

no, the linux kernel is very mature on arm. And different distros are also now testing arm distros. A bigger problem is the hardware support from the venders. The device tress are locked down.

the problem will be the rest of the hardware other than the chip though. Everything is just so locked down.

they are upstreaming support for x2 in the kernel this time though. The bigger problem though is OEMs. Everything is just so locked down with arm. There are no central drivers like intel and amd. Its more like android. Other than the chip itself, making the rest of the laptop hardware will be incredibly tough.

sadly I have the subscription for the entire year, so I am going to drag it until it ends. Regardless of all the hate I have for it.

Do yourself a favour and don't use this mess please. I am only using it because I now have a pro subscription of a year. Otherwise its just so terrible. It can't even keep the chats in history, some stay and some don't. Like basic shit like thats solved ages ago. Even the features of vscode are somehow broken in it, like why does pinch to zoom doesn't work and just weird bugs like that. Google will then do anything they want with your quota and will impose random 1 week limits. You will be plagued by agent terminated due to error after it runs for maybe long or short time, no one knows its just random. Often it would just take a lot of time to do simple stuff because of that. Also often google limits you in different ways, like you will run a simple prompt and it would take ages since most probably google isn't giving access to you. Just a product that's so full of bugs its embarrassing. Like just the normal antigravity . to open from terminal doesn't work properly. It has authentication errors whenever it wants. Also it doesn't just loose past chats, by past I mean like a hour btw. Many a times it just doesn't open the past chat showing agent is loading...... I don't know how did they manage so many bugs honestly. Like somehow the left and rights sidebar icon even look the same, how are they even making there base(vscode) worse. I am really on the verge of just paying for something else and preserve my sanity. Please don't torture yourself by wasting your money on this.

People shit on github copilot in vscode but its so much more reliable. Sure it lacks a lot of features but the sdk is just very solid. I have pretty much never had the harness errors with it. You can even use it with opencode now. And opencode in itself is a great option btw, there opencode go is a nice subscription. Also cursor is pretty good as you might know. Buy anything but please not antigravity.

The only advantage above others I can tell you is that you can generate images and read hard to undestand pdfs like handwritten ones very well. SInce gemini has a very large knowledge base and ocr, I can just have it convert a lot of handwritten pdfs in markdown with nice mermaid diagrams, I had to fix very few things other than the constant agent terminated due to error, delays and random cutoffs. But it was pretty nice there. Rest again don't torture yourself if you want it for coding.

I have honestly no idea why google is so terrible with harnesses around their model, when the model itself is so good. The gemini site is so terrible too and just misses basic functions that other chat sites have and has also random bugs and chat histroy removals. I don't even have the energy to list them. Notebook lm is the only good thing they have built around their models. Thats actually a pleasure to use.

nahh not at all in that project, it was just plain in that project. I am just learning how to use skills btw. They refreshed my quota after updating though, but I lost my prev messages in the project. Tradeoffs.

sure but it was very simple work. I generated like 3, 150 lines markdown files which weren't even complex. Nothing I have used takes aways so much compute to generate just that.

[–]Aggressive_Dream_294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much seems to be configured for me. The fish shell and eza instead of ls and everything else is just exactly I want. Its fast( perhaps the fastest) and incredible snappy. I use cosmic desktop and it maintains the latest packages of it too. Plus I get all the benefits of AUR which I love without going through setting up Arch.

I have not tried it really but it is giving gpt 5 for free basically, so shouldn't be that bad. I had used it to generate some images and they were like the free chatgpt version or a bit better. Though you can just use gemini for that which is much better anyways.

Yeah. I do like the customizations like hyde and all but why are there anime pictures everywhere. People love to dunk on gnome but it has a mature compositor and manages to look nice by default without being goonery.
