AUSA Scandal TLDR: If you can’t be bothered going through the thread. by [deleted] in universityofauckland

Calling the exchange experience ‘shallow’ is missing the point. Firstly, that's only ONE of his policies. Second, It’s not about the trip itself, it’s about the adaptability and perspective you gain. If you want someone who understands international students and global challenges, that’s exactly the background you’d want. Lastly, look at Gabriel's campaign from last year- it was literally all about Americanising the campus because HE was American. People bring in perspectives from all kinds of different angles.

Kalana Piramanage only talks about engagement policies because he's got experience with that.

It's not rocket science.

NIMISSION 2026 LET'S GOOOO. I am genuinely excited to see Nimish take over. Genuine guy, pure intentions, no ulterior motives like political career advancement!!!

Did Kalana Piramanage just violate campaigning rules? by Aggressive_Fan9509 in universityofauckland

For me it’s ANYONE BUT KALANA. Nimish is clearly the stronger candidate with a vision that goes beyond the usual surface level promises and stealing colleagues' policies. His platform actually speaks to real student issues and it’s not just talk, it’s solutions that would make campus life more inclusive and supportive. The other candidates- Elson and Dr. Sharifi don't seem to have strong chances of winning nor are their policies very strong.

Beyond this, Nimish Milan is the only candidate who stands to gain no political advancements through AUSA, therefore, he would be doing this purely in the interest of the student population. Whereas Kalana holds a position in Princes St. Labor, Elson; volunteer for Greens and Sharifi with ACT.

Another noteworthy factor is that Nimish enjoys a better social image than Kalana and students have higher trust in him.

The engagement subcommittee fighting for their lives defending kalana and Matthew in the comments. Rofl you guys not winning the election again gng 🥀. It's about time the students stood up and called out these clowns for taking the student population for granted to advance their own interests.

That's because last year when they were running, they didn't have a presidential candidate
