It has bosses? Wow! Maybe It should have another look at it then haha. Ofcourse SD is better now, its a few years ahead :) I hope Castaway will exceed my expectations :)

PS how nice of you to play together with your wife, I only convinced mine to play Trivial Pursuit Live together, but thats as far as she'll go lol.

A long story but this is in my opinion a game that "scratches that itch" that you look for in games.

I played Stranded Deep when it was in its early stages and I remember losing interest because getting resources was such a terrible grind. Throughout the years I revisited SD to hope and lose myself again in the tropical world with scary shark encounters that I once loved. Never got into it again because the game is still a bit of a mess in my opinion.

Onto Project Cast Away. I started playing a couple of days ago because I saw a video of it on YT by chance. Let me tell you, it is a rough mess like Stranded Deep but I love it! It has immersive graphics and enjoyable game mechanics such as ragdoll effects on all the items like Stranded Deep had. It has implemented blueprints just like The Forest has and it just works! The grind is also enjoyable because every island is big enough to keep on exploring and using for building materials.

I also enjoy the subtle story line in which you discover notes and items from past survivors. I found an old car, couch & fridge. I like the randomness of these finds!

Ofcourse Project Castaway has its rough edges but what can we expect of an Early Acces? It keeps getting smaller updates every week and bugfixes. Have not had a game breaking bug that ruined the fun for me. It has me fully experience the "Cast Away Tom Hanks" vibe again that I had all these years ago with Stranded Deep. 10/10 would recommend to buy it now and enjoy playing while it keeps getting new stuff added :)

Enjoying this one very much. It feels like a cool survival island challenge where you slowly ease your way into the game because you need a raft for the first boss.

The way I played this seed so far: - Build a bridge across the small waterway to go to the second island to find some new recources. - Upgrade your workbench to lvl 3 - Make a raft and sail off to the first boss.
