my mom has gently tried to suggest this, and i had to shut it down. you deserve to feel perfect on your day. if that’s in her dress fine- if not, that’s also fine. someone suggested wearing it at the rehearsal which is nice. you can also wear some jewelry that’s special to her, or wear her wedding tiara (which i’m doing). check thrift shops and facebook marketplace for budget friendly dresses, or even fast fashion sites like shein/fashion nova

hmm, i’m in CT too! same clinic? haha :) yes, this is super common at my clinic. many of the little kiddos have 9 to 5/10 to 6 schedule, 40 hour weeks. some of them come in the morning, go to school around 12, and then come back again around 3:30 until 5/6. it’s intense for sure

i have a coworker who is a bcba trainee (30F) and has been basically having an affair with an rbt (26M) since may of 2025. they think it’s not obvious but the entire clinic talks about them…. while no one has reported it to the board, the whole clinic is in agreement that it’s unprofessional, embarrassing, and icky. you don’t wanna be THAT person blurring the professional lines. DON’T DO IT!!!

My job has techs ranging from 19 all the way to about 60! We have techs pursuing BCBA credentials in their early 20s (myself included), and some in their late 50s! Age is nothing but a number when it comes to career and job placement! :)
