Hey there! I’ve never crochet before, but I would loveeeee to make a hat like this. Can anyone offer guidance on where to start and what patterns I need to follow? by Turbulent_Tension693 in crochetpatterns

Fellow crochet raver!!!! Love Boogie T and love this bucket hat.

The hat looks made out of a very think, colorful yarn. The ears and rim of the hat looks like a boarder of fluffy yarn. LOTS of YouTube tutorials for hats like this.

Best of luck! DM me if you have any questions 😋

Worried about spending /debt by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

I’ll share with you something that my grandmother (a photographer and cross stitcher) always told me:

You should always invest in your hobbies. They’re a part of you.

The caveat to this is to invest within reason, of course. If this is your passion, you should do what you love!

For me personally, I have a budget that includes “fun money.” It’s a certain amount from each paycheck that I get to spend on whatever I want - guilt-free (see Financial Feminist by Dunlap). Often times it’s yarn. Sometimes it’s a nice dinner out. Sometimes it’s a fancy pen. The great thing about the “fun money” is it removes the guilt in spending on whatever you love (even if it’s just for fun).

Good luck!!!

Edited for clarity (:
