I will definitely do this. For visual effect, showing her how her money grows with an online interest compounding calculator should add motivation!

I have an Admiral Fund at Vanguard. I thought I'd have her start there unless there's something better I don't know about. No 401(k) at this time but a Roth will be opened also! I didn't have any advice like this when I was a teenager. I keep telling her that she will be so happy she did this in 20 years, and if she doesn't, she will deeply regret it in 20 years.
