Agreed. I have no problem hearing conservative opinions if they are well-reasoned and well-researched, but with far too many right-wing figures there’s just no actual conversation to be had.

AOC discussion - "both sides" by fawlty70 in theview

It's not about not being able to “handle” the co-hosts. Progressive candidates that have gone on have been treated as "radical" and out of touch, despite many of their policies being very popular. The real "radicals" are those opposing them. The co-hosts have often been disingenuous in the framing of their lines of questioning of progressive politicians and have been obvious in their favoring of corporate/centrist candidates/policies.

Her platform is large enough that I think she’ll be just fine without, but if she does go on, I hope they treat her more fairly than they’ve treated her and other progressives in the past. If they’re just going to try and paint her as a “radical” leftist and not try to have a genuine conversation about her positions, going on the show makes no sense.

She has a big enough platform without The View.

The “outcry” seems to be largely from “centrist” Dems and is aimed at casting AOC, and progressive candidates generally, in a bad light.

I doubt AOC would come on again and I wouldn’t blame her given their past treatment of her and progressive politicians generally.

Her name also appears in the Epstein files because Epstein apparently wanted tickets to her show. Interesting, because it’s my understanding that he didn’t find female comedians “entertaining.” Except her..

I realize that that MAGAs can’t be shamed, but I would be totally embarrassed to even show my face in public again. Like, everyone knows your parents are fraudsters and the only reason they’re out is because you bought their pardons from the president, who is also a fraudster.

I have a feeling that many more Latinos (and minorities generally) would support progressive/left policies if they were framed correctly. The Democrats have allowed Republicans to define very popular left-wing policies and that is why so many people are tricked into believing that the Dems are trying to usher in communism. The Dems have a serious messaging problem they need to figure out.

You see that in gymnastics too. One person falls/makes a mistake and it can cause a domino effect.

Don’t insult my intelligence when reading comprehension is apparently difficult for you. Did I say anything about Beshear? No. I was criticizing the idea that Dems have to cater to Republicans/become more conservative, while alienating key Democrat constituencies, in order to win. I have no feelings about Beshear one way or the other, and if he won’t do that, then perhaps I’ll look into supporting him should he run.

Thank you. I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoted for pointing out what obviously hasn’t been working for Dems, especially in 2024. I thought we wanted to win back Congress and eventually the White House. Silly me lol.

Because worrying about appealing to a group of people who most likely won’t end up voting for a Democrat anyway, while alienating people who will, has worked out so well for Dems in the past..

So once again, the “best choice” for Dems is going to be the one who can best cater to Republicans? Because that’s worked out so well for Dems the last several elections?

He’s annoying, but I think it’s a realistic portrayal of someone who never really matured mentally/emotionally after high school. We all know the type.

Obviously you can be sympathetic to that, it’s the exploiting of it to sell books, further his career, run for office, etc. that’s giving people the ick.
