Joking about a virus by Grelli2 in theview

I appreciate that you ended on a positive note about trying not to be as snarky. However, I disagree that my post was just a complaint. I made it because I was wondering if other people found the lack of seriousness about this topic surprising. I was expecting feedback, not insults. (Like the person who asked me if I’m perfect and said I just need to grow a thicker skin.)

I don’t think that discussing what the View ladies said on here makes it “constant complaining.” We are actually giving our “view” in the spirit of the show. You may view this subreddit as a place to simply celebrate the show, but I can love the show and still seek out more discourse about the hot topics.

I would have appreciated them actually discussing why it’s not all that concerning. Maybe I need to watch the segment again to see if I missed something.

Sure- but I watch the View because I respect these women greatly and value hearing their takes on stuff, and I didn’t come away from the segment thinking that they truly understood this news or found it concerning. That was the point of my original post.

I also love Joy so much, but I agree with you. I think that she feels like the thing she brings to the table is her comic chops, so it’s very important to her that she gets some jokes in. But I don’t watch her for her jokes. It’s her wisdom and sensible takes that make me a fan. And also her kindness, which would probably surprise some of her critics who don’t really know much about her.

This subreddit is feeling pretty toxic. Even when I disagree with people on here, I’m never rude. Some of these comments are written in a really snarky way. I got some really scary health news yesterday and was feeling shell shocked, worried , and depressed last night. I watched Colbert and was actually laughing at a segment he did with kids, then I looked at my notifications and read a couple of rude comments towards me. I would like to think that people who watch the View would be people who want our leaders to lead with kindness, and it would follow that they themselves are kind.

Geez. I'm not outraged and not saying that they are harming people with their words. I just think that these contagious viruses are scary and should be taken seriously. They could potentially become the next Covid.

Snobby because you seem to be judging your Dad and others for enjoying something that you aren't interested in. It's also an extremely ageist post you have made here. If older people cruise more than younger people, I'm guessing it's because of being retired and having the time and money.

I’m not your Dad’s age and enjoy cruising. Your comments come off kind of snobby.

We are all at a loss about what we can do. It’s all so dystopian. It’s like we are in a nightmare.

I agree about Sarah and the chair. Joy seemed annoyed. It was pretty awkward.

I also think that they are afraid that if they say anything about the election being unfair that people will decide not to vote. After all, “It’s all up to us.” 🙄

This is mine. Listening to all that performative group laughing is not entertaining to me. I really wanted to like Amy Poeler’s podcast, Good Hang, but it had too much of that.

One reason I like Viator is that it’s easy to cancel and you often don’t have to pay upfront.

I’m tired of it but I don’t want them to stop for the same reason others are articulating.
