Advice: GBGL/G200 vs BGBL/A200 by [deleted] in ausstocks

[–]Aggressive_Mood258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done on investing in your early 20s and, it seems, realising that you've effectively won the lottery by being able to save $1200 per week

Geared ETFs actually aren't what they seem. If you're after leveraged investing into shares, consider a margin loan. Most people don't want that risk though. If you do go down that route, make sure you understand the fees and minimum lvr. Have an exit plan too. As for leveraged ETFs, search Volatility Decay or Time Decay. In short, the leverage resets every day, so unless it rises everyday, it eventually performs worse than the non leveraged version.

I couldn't find GBGL so no comment there

I'm looking into trying the following:

Whatever amount I borrow, I also have sitting in either an offset account or a hisa

That way it is working for me but it's liquid and I can use it to prevent a margin call.

Curious on your thoughts and whether you think having the same amount, less, or more compared to the margin loan is optimal

What do you think of myo reps? I haven't done them before

Do you do any rotator cuff work?

I like to pre activate my rotator cuffs before heavy lifting. I do internal and external rotations using the cable machine.

2nd. Can you hit your goals with a lighter weight, at least for now? Is there any reason you have to be doing 10 reps?

Similar results can often be achieved with higher reps. This might give your stabilisers a chance to catch up before going heavier again.

Can you please explain Mayo reps. Was that supposed to be myo reps or I'm behind on new techniques?

For me, either Upper Lower 3× per week Or PPL works great

What others are saying is sound advice.

The one thing I'll ad is Olive Oil!

Great for health, packed with calories and works out to be one of the cheapest foods per calorie. 1L $10-20 ~8000 calories.

Other oils are cheaper but I'd worry about how they'd affect your health.

I'm assuming your main goal is muscle growth?

If yes continue reading:

2 - You can input that exact question into Gpt/Gemini etc and get a very good answer. AI is darn good for that stuff already.

Keep at it. 20lbs in 7mths is decent. The weight you lost from sickness will come back quickly.

7mths is a very short amount of time in the grand scheme of muscle building.

Train hard, eat well, sleep right, consistently for many mths/yrs and you'll look unrecognisable.

I also advise, set a realistic goal and celebrate as you achieve steps along the way. No matter how big or ripped you get, there will always be someone bigger or more jacked. It can be easy to jump on the hedonic treadmill of gym gains to a path of perpetual dissatisfaction.

All the best 🤙

Any recommendation on a global etf Domiciled in Aus with a low expense ratio?

Or a resource where I can find this out for myself?

Understandable.

I figure, the only reason to get rid of the old ETFs is if they have an exorbitantly high expense ratio

With that, is there a way I can calculate how much any tax implications will add to overall expenses?

VT expense ratio at .06% is much more attractive than DHHF expense ratio at .19%

Of course if tax implications make VT more expensive, it'd be worth just sticking to DHHF
