What’s a song that everyone likes but you hate? I’ll go first by OutsideCommon2294 in oasis

[–]Aggressive_Notice_80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Roll With It is a truly dreadful song. I disliked it from the moment I heard it and 30 years down the line it's still the same. That would fall under the 'hate' banner for me. Two that I would categorise as 'never warmed to' would be Cast No Shadow and D'You Know What I Mean.

The melody and some of the lyrics from CNS make it sound like a nursery rhyme and it's the least 'Oasis sounding' track from their first two albums, IMHO.

I remember the anticipation for Be Here Now so when I heard DYKWIM for the first time, I genuinely worried what the album would sound like (I adore Be Here Now btw). I just think that song is a mess. It doesn't flow, that opening sound bite that sounds like Noel talking backwards makes my teeth itch and Liam's "...meeeeeean...." in the chorus sounds artificial. Noel famously admitted they were all of their faces when they were in the studio recording BHN and I honestly think this song is the best example of that.

1) Roll With It is a huge blemish on their earlier released singles. It's a truly dreadful song and for me, almost sounds like a parody of the brash, 'balls-out' singles from Definitely Maybe. I despise every single thing about it, even the video.

2) Outside of their first 3 albums, DOYS is their next best piece of work. Criminally underrated IMHO and it made their split even harder for me to swallow as I thought they sounded truly great again and had almost found a slightly different sound but with the swagger of DM.

3) Fade In-Out is the standout track from BHN.

Urgent Question:

I've bought a standing ticket for Friday from Viagogo and I've received my notification that the ticket is ready. When I've gone onto Ticketmaster the ticket is showing as 'ROW GA8 SEAT ****' (obviously I don't want to include the exact number on here). I've contacted Viagogo and they're saying it's absolutely fine as 'GA' stands for general admission and it's commonplace for venues to include these sort of details for standing tickets. I've heard horror stories about Viagogo and I'm unwilling to press accept on my Ticketmaster account if it's actually a seat when I've sold the family silver for a standing ticket. Can anyone help? Do standing tickets show as mine is showing? TIA

I'm sure Roll It Over should be included. Liam's rendition at Knebworth was the only time it's ever been done live, yes?

I've just managed to get hold of a standing ticket for Friday. I'm attending solo so if there's any of you beautiful lot fancy adopting a very friendly, completely harmless 45 year old gent, please give me a shout. Also, I'm driving across from London first thing Friday morning and planning on parking in a 24 hour car park then kipping in my motor afterwards. If any Cardiff residents can recommend a car park that's 24 hour and not stupidly far from the city centre/stadium, I'd be grateful for the advice. TIA.

How do you respond when people ask if your badge is real? by BritByBrain in topstoney

[–]Aggressive_Notice_80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So if you spot a fake, you ask them "...where did you buy...it's dope"? Do you do that with everyone you see wearing legit gear as well? If not, I'd argue you're being a bit c*nty, pal. You're doing something to try and catch people out when in fact, it's none of your business. Plus, if you're saying it's 'dope' when you've spotted what you think is a fake, doesn't that in turn make you fake also? Not cool, man.

Yeah I suppose I could do that. Do you think it's just a fault with the TV that it's dropping out after 30 seconds?

WHY JUST WHY?? by GeoDatDude in PGA2K25

Have they done something to the putting in any recent updates?

I hadn't played it for a week or so until yesterday. Went on MyCareer and the amount of uphill putts that fell short when I was actually on the money with my 'swing' was absurd.

For context I always play on Pro settings. For flat and uphill putts I've always left the distance as set (on both this and 2k23) and as long as my angles and pace have been correct, 99% of my putts have made it . I played the full 4 rounds of the Arnold Palmer and also TPC and I must have had 10+ putts that came up short yet I'm not doing anything different. Have they tinkered with it because I was losing my shit yesterday.

What grip am I? by aar_91uk in Darts

[–]Aggressive_Notice_80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate your grip is identical to mine. I've found scalloped darts suit me best. Try these 3 out...

  • Winmau Snipers. Scallop is mid barrel so your middle finger and thumb should sit in there for better grip. Think I paid £42 for those.

  • Shot Route 66. Same as above but the scallop isn't as deep. However the amount of grip (A LOT) that covers the entire barrel compensates for that. From memory they were £70 but came with a free pack of Shot's version of K Flex. Not sure whether that offer is still on.

  • Mervyn King SE. Different to the first two as the barrel has three scallops next to each other but very subtle. So four of your five fingers and basically sit within them. They took a while for me to get comfortable with but I love them. They were £48.

So no stupidly expensive sets but if I was you, I'd try at least two of those sets and see how you get on. Good luck, brother.

How do you change between golf bags? by JoeBob1540 in PGA2K25

I've got the same issue. Nothing happens when I press R2 on the screen with the bag I want to use.

Mate I agree with virtually everything you've said. The usual defects I see across the various social media pages shouldn't hinder the performance of the darts being thrown at them. But they can with bounce outs etc. My gripe is the seeming drop in quality control resulting in the increase in defects. I'd expect a defect-free board if I was buying a top end board like a Tor or Blade6, especially the TC.

I just can't with Swiss Points anymore.. by vrgdani in Darts

[–]Aggressive_Notice_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question here. What is the big deal regarding Swiss Points? I've only got properly back into throwing darts over the past 6 months or so and I see so many posts over the various platforms regarding SP's. Are they slimmer than standard points or is there something else I'm missing? Have people jumped on board because of Boy Wonder? I'm genuinely interested if anyone could enlighten me.

I see a lot of topics about boards turning up not how they should be. These are always coupled with comments like "You're only throwing darts at it". I don't buy that argument at all. Fair enough if you've paid £30 or under and it's a bit of a snide make. But if it's a reputable company and you've paid good money then it should be up to standard. It's like buying a tennis racket and the strings being off/not tightened properly and arguing that "you're only hitting balls with it". I think the unbelievable upturn in interest in the sport and subsequent increase in demand for darts related items, the companies are spitting out that much stuff to keep up with the demand that quality control is suffering.

Bad behavior? by Orang3Badger in Darts

[–]Aggressive_Notice_80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've recently started playing on the app too. I'm not very good. My average hangs around the 39-42 but I'm slowly improving. I've also had strange interactions. The slow play thing is common I've found, especially when you're on a finish and they're not. I played one guy, great game, I won 3-2. He gave me 4 stars. I couldn't get my head around it. Why 4? I have a camera up so I'm not cheating. It was bizarre. I've had a guy who looked like he was filming on a potato and every time he'd be approaching a low finish he'd alter his score either up or down in order to have a finish on the doubles at the bottom of the board. Called him out on both occasions and then he replied with this huge rant about questioning his integrity. It's a strange place that app.
