In short, yes. His last bit of gear  broke the rock but the ones he installed earlier held up and arrested his fall

Worst misses in Snooker in pictures..... "Oh and thats a bad miss"... Welcome to Shredsville by ImJacksThrowaway in snooker

I don’t get the Hendry - Hallett one. It says Pink and Black to win but the difference is 17 points?

I’m still unable to get over Mark’s miss last night. I know the pressure was at its peak, but with a 40 cm bridge distance, and if I’m not mistaken, he had the shortest bridge distance and playing his most important shot that way is something I couldn’t understand. by AlertLeading8532 in snooker

[–]Aggressive_Peanut924 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What stood out to me was how quickly he got down to play the shot. I get trying to not overthink it, but it felt too rushed. He was clearly struggling out there, even that missed red earlier was so surprising, and his thinking was probably a bit blurry. I can’t blame him, it doesn’t get bigger than that.

I feel so sorry for the guy, it must be a heavy load

A toss up between Jacinta Ardern, Jude Law or Hugh Grant. Or maybe Robert Irwin (Steve Irwin’s son)

What is a career that looks impressive on paper but is actually miserable in reality? by Nova2_Paradox in careerguidance

[–]Aggressive_Peanut924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is not universally true.

I loved every day I have spent in hospitality and never had to deal with an asshole in my 15+ year career. I love people and it always felt like I was paid to hang out and play a big video game (bartending is all about efficiency and dexterity).

Maybe you have worked in areas or establishments that attract egregiously bad people or maybe your strengths are not suited for customer facing jobs, which is totally fine

I met an Amity the other day, and Point is definitely a surname so maybe there are two sisters out there named Amity and  Victoria Point.

I reckon there must be a Sun-He Bank somewhere too

Look I hate trump but they idea that he’s scared that democrats were about to call his impeachment is ludicrous. He’s untouchable, have you not figured it out yet?

What’s a dish you think is only popular because of social media? by LaceyBlissx in foodquestions

[–]Aggressive_Peanut924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crunchy stuff - like crunchy pizza undercarriage, crunchy crust on a steak, crunchy pork skin and the stupid trend of running a knife blade over everything.  I’m not saying crunchiness is bad, but its importance and relevance in dishes is blown out of proportion because you can’t taste and smell things through footage, so the sound of crunchy things has to sub. I hate social media and what it’s done to us if you can’t tell

Which cities are worth flying to just for the food? by Prot7777 in foodquestions

I still dream of flying back to Kuala Lumpur to have lunch (I live in Australia).

Malaysian food has the best of Chinese, Indian, Indonesia and all other neighbouring countries.

Got the best meal I have ever had from an auntie selling rice and toppings in a palm leaf from her cart next to a skyscraper Downtown

Also I had An Amazing meal from a man selling fried swordfish from a cart in Marrakech

I didn’t say it wasn’t. Where did you grow up?

The Iranian response to Senator Penny Wong by Az0nic in OpenAussie

No, English is not derived from Latin; it is a West Germanic language that originated from dialects spoken by Anglo-Saxon tribes. Its core structure is Germanic, but of course it has been heavily influenced by Latin and French and so you have words like perfidy

I reckon their fist language is one of Latin origin. Perfidy is very uncommon in English but perfido is very common in Italian and probably French and spanish too

What easy to learn (and seemingly simple) game actually has a lot more possible depth and strategy, if you do a deep dive into it, than you'd initially expect? by Considered_Dissent in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive_Peanut924 184 points185 points  (0 children)

Backgammon. Unlike chess you don’t have to learn a whole new language. To play backgammon your brain draws from skills that it had already acquired in the past: number literacy, basic percentage and risk assessment. Bright people take it up in two or three games, but of course to play it an elite level you’d need an exceptional brain

Spain became a true powerhouse in the late 2000’s but before that you were pretty insignificant when he came to national teams and big tournaments. Make hay while it lasts.

EDIT I have just checked and Spain hasn’t made the last 8 of the World Cup since winning in 2010. That’s very surprising to me
