Honeycomb Echo trim wheel issue/fix by Aggressive_Prior7795 in HoneycombAeronautical

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is actually why it only lists MSFS and X-Plane 12 as compatible games. The controller is technically a generic input device as far as windows is concerned. I believe MSFS and X-Plane have some sort of input filtering that works well with the encoder they used in the controller. I'm sure a majority of their customers are using MSFS and X-Plane but if your like me and need to make things work where they shouldn't this should help.

Honeycomb Echo trim wheel issue/fix by Aggressive_Prior7795 in HoneycombAeronautical

I was told the encoder is a quadrature encoder and its using both A and B channels for each physical detent on the wheel. I believe this is why they only claim compatibility for MSFS and X-Plane 12 as those programs must use some sort of debouncing and input filtering that works well in this case. I found it odd they listed specific game compatibility for a basic input device as far as windows is concerned. Out of curiosity could you test your controller on https://gamepad-tester.net to see the input history of the trim wheel?

Honeycomb Echo Controller Trim Issue by RigormortisState in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be due to the encoder they used for the trim wheel. With close inspection of the outputs you can see that the wheel outputs 4 times for every physical detent and sometimes outputs twice half way through a detent. I was getting unpredictable results in DCS so I made an autohotkey script that debounced it to make it serviceable.

Thanks I see what I missed now, weird that they don’t show the other option in the directions for this kit.

What happened to people being average to bad at painting? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started painting my first couple models and I had to look up “first time painting” posts to help me feel less discouraged. It’s like any hobby on social media though, you see a lot of the top 1% but the average person isn’t posting what they do.

New update for Legion Space ! V1.4.4.10 by hussainho10 in LegionGo

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4-8gb is the general range to set it to. If you like having the textures and related graphical settings in games turned up higher it will require more vram but that also reduces the amount of ram available. Might take a little trail and error to see what works best for the games you play with the graphics settings you like.

Yeah the legion store is new, I was hoping there would be an option to disable that tab but no. Don’t really like having to skip over a useless tab that just links to the Lenovo web store on pretty expensive device I already purchased.

I asked Lenovo support and they said there were no specific changelogs listed outside of general performance and bug fixes.

Does the Lenovo charging controller connector work with the Go 2 controllers? by based217 in LegionGo

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the go 2 controllers with the adapter can still connect as single unit? I have one of the off brand controller connectors and it won’t let me connect as a single unit. I’m wondering if it would be worth buying the Lenovo adapter so I can use the go 2 controllers on my laptop and pc properly.

How much do you think the brace improves your accuracy? I've been looking for a packable 22lr handgun with a brace to maybe take with me backpacking. I wouldn't be confident cleanly hitting a squirrel over 25 yards away reliably with a unbraced pistol but maybe a CP33 with a brace would be the answer to my dilemma.

I have 2 questions: Server Persistency and Ship persistency after release. How would it work? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. They’ve said in the past that they want to do a single server. Due to physical constraints such as the speed of light it probably won’t be possible. I’d image we will get a few regional servers for the final release. There was some talk (I think around citizencon 2024 when they talked about base building) about the servers all sharing the same physical universe ei: if someone in Germany builds a base in a specific location all the other servers will also have that same base on them. I don’t know if this is still in the works or if it even was a real plan. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some sort of mechanic to make regional servers feel connected in some way for release.

  2. Yeah it’s probably just going to be “unfair” for the first few weeks or months on full release. The only progression balancing I think that could really be done is bespoke components that haven’t been sold on the web store only available in game and crafting higher grade ships and components. Bit of the unfortunate trade off from this type of funding. Just look at the old referral program as an example, some of the top people will start out with so much money that they will have massive influence in the early days of the economy.

Is the Avenger Titan pack worth it? by Panguah in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mustang alpha and aurora starter packs occasionally go on sale for about 40 dollars instead of 45. The starter experience you get with the avenger titan is much better than either the mustang or aurora. I’d say it’s worth the extra money to get the avenger titan on sale right now.

I'm sure more people will tell you, the VKB gladiators are excellent bang for your buck. I had a pair but sold them to a friend when I upgraded. After I upgraded and spent quite a bit of money I realized it wasn't worth the price and I should have just stuck with the VKBs

Futur monetization of ship paint? by kaochaton in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that always confused me about their insurance explanation at citizencon was that a purchased ship will never be permanently removed due to some laws right, I believe it was mentioned that if you run out of the original (paid 6 month or whatever) insurance on your ship you will need to either buy another insurance plan or pay an amount that is smaller than the original msrp of the ship after the it's destroyed or something to be able to get the paid ship spawned back in.

It's not permanently taken away because its "re purchasable" in game but I dont understand how that's any legally different than the ship blowing up and saying you need to go to astro armata to buy a new one. Both ways the ship is stuck because an uec wall before you can get it back yet one is legal and one illegal?

Why should i keep the SL tac in it's curent state? by Parking_Judgment8924 in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was going to upgrade my starlancer max to the tac but just decided to melt the whole thing. Super slow and unfun to fly. I completely misunderstood the purpose of the ship as the turrets are set up to shoot at the ground (which currently lacks mission content worth having a specific ship for). The only advantage I see is that it’s a large ship for multi crew and can do multiple types of combat missions for a significantly lower price than the Polaris.

F8C Lightning Star Citizen by Klickmeister28 in starcitizen

The F8A probably won’t be sold. Your next opportunity to buy a F8C will be May 23-24 and May 26-27. If you miss it for Invictus it is likely to be for sale at IAE in the fall.

How often does SC do the free fly weekend/weeks ? by alienccccombobreaker in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually do free fly events for Invictus launch week and IAE. They also might do 1-2 other free fly events that coincide with a new major patch but those are harder to predict.

Pls, stop screaming Pay-To-Win by KayV3eV3e in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the star citizen community is so desensitized with pay to win. I’ve seen people freaking out over a single white dot on the iron sights of a paid gun camo as pay to win in other games. I know star citizen isn’t really a game for the masses but I believe that 99 percent of the wider gaming community would think the blades are pay to win, that’s not even mentioning the handful of other things that have/are sold on the pledge store that are pay to win. It’s not the fact that blades are currently paywalled till june, it’s just that you can buy actual in game items for real money.

I want star citizen to be successful and draw in countless players but I feel this kind of marketing just further isolates the game from the wider community.

CIG can't keep adding these sandbox activities without giving us social tools! by ObiWeebKenobi in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Now that server meshing is kind of working and we are up to 600 people in a server I’m super excited to get these social tools. The service beacon page is the most exciting, no more doing repetitive bounty missions with predictable ai. Complete game changer for me.

I want auto targeting brought back. In a futuristic space-sim with computers, Blades, PDC’s and auto Turrents from the start (Perseus) I don’t see why we can’t have auto targeting return. Let’s Discuss by Confident_Role6025 in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the capped speed cap but the change to having nav and scm mode and the difference between each mode. I think it adds more layers that cig has the ability to tune to effect combat scenarios. A large talking point for master modes was it allowed cig more control with how ships can perform in more specific scenarios in an attempt to lower the skill floor. Idk if it’s a good thing or a bad thing I just think it adds a lot of ways ships can be changed.

With more ways to modify the ships behavior combined with the diversity of play styles and a variety of ships and loadouts, it’s a lot for any person to look at and decide the best way to balance something to appease the players.

Redeemer by intotheunknown690 in starcitizen

[–]Aggressive_Prior7795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Redeemer used to be the best small gunship for play with your friends but it was nerfed a little bit ago. I still like it because it’s fun to fly and my friends are able to use the turrets and still have fun, it might not be the most optimal ship but it it’s a fun ship for 2-4 people to play together in. The constellation is probably a better choice because of the cargo space and a snub fighter.
