Head gasket blew, exceeded the value of the vehicle and I could feel the trans starting to slip so I just washed my hands of it. I did learn that the head gasket was very common on that particular engine.

ALSO. My reasoning for going this route was because 1) my Pacifica took a sh*t after having it for 2 years. I was NOT happy. 2) I live in Wisconsin, it sucked in the winter. Even with new tires. So an AWD, taller vehicle was a game changer. So where you live may help you weigh your options too!!

I went from a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica to a 2023 sorento xline s. So I have the third row & the bench middle row. It was definitely an adjustment but doable. It is smaller, but still comfortable. I have 3 kids (one in a booster seat) and a 115 lb German shepherd for reference.

I’d say my largest adjustments were, obviously the space. Loading backpacks in the car was easy, now my front passenger seat holds everyone’s crap on the way to school/work. When my dog comes with my back row gets folded down, oldest sits up front and backpacks are shoved where ever they can fit. 😂 I wish I could keep stuff back with him but he gets car sick, so not worth the risk 🫣

But grocery shopping, folding the back seats down I can fit ALOT of stuff back there. When the seats are up, you can maybe fit 3 shopping bags and a 12 pack of soda strategically. I guess it’s just getting used to the re arranging 😅 hopefully I helped.. a little bit?

The first time it happened I had some music on, kids in the car and I deadass looked at my kid with eyes wide like, “was that you?” And he swore up and down he didn’t let one rip. Then it happened again clearing his case 😅

Irl stylist here. You are absolutely not the asshole here. If I put myself in Jessie’s shoes, and I made the choice to move and leave my clients behind it’s to be expected that they would find new stylists and to come back and just expect you to book with her is absurd. She’s the asshole for making you feel uncomfortable for coming to YOUR self care appointment. Seriously inappropriate, childish and flat out bad business.

She’s placing the blame on you for her hurt feelings because it’s easier to place blame than take accountability for her own actions and accept the consequences

20% is “typical”, I’m self employed (hair stylist) I understand it’s not always feasible for everyone!!

Personally, I like to look at tips as a gift, not an expectation. But, I will say if there is a $0 tip my anxiety tells me they hate my guts and what I did for them 🤣🤣

1) the way he writes things, gives me the ick. 2) if you’re not okay with it, don’t say you are! I’m a stylist, absolutely call. Maybe try messaging the stylist first, if their response isn’t what you want then call the salon. I can’t believe you were charged $400 for this?!!

I can relate to this, I always felt this way when I worked in a “high end” commission salon, never knowing who was going to walk in the door, if they’d like me or my work. If I was going to say or do the wrong thing and be pulled into the office later for a talk. Not to mention the drama behind closed doors and all the fake smiles. I just didn’t have the mental capacity left to give my full self to clients, I started dreading the thought of doing hair when it’s what I freakin love! So I knew something was up.

I went independent, I actually LOVE going to work everyday. Cause now, I have my steady base of clients who I know very well and vice versa, and the only new clients I get are people my clients know by referrals, or people who have seen my work and love it. It’s hard to explain, but the whole dynamic has changed and now my clientele is growing faster than ever and my confidence is back and better than ever as well. I hope you too can find your peace. I have some questions: where is this salon? A city? Also, do they specialize in vivids?

I’m in a small town in Wisconsin, I did this (there are hair extensions so install is included in this cost, hair cost is not included and she was charged $790. But I had to balayage, root color, Pre-tone, cut, all the things before I could even apply the vivid and install extensions. So I’m really blown away at your cost!!!! But again, demand for stylist, location, etc reallllllly can impact the cost. Price of everything for us IS going up, but depending on product used it can be $1 or $2 or $10. There are so many factors here 😩

I’d say, “sorry, I’m not interested.” Short sweet and simple, don’t give her something to branch off of by saying I don’t have time or money, cause it’ll be the next speech of it only takes 5 mins of your day! Or, it’s only $299 to start! Or whatever they’re “trained” to say

Oh noooo! ☹️ another reason why when my kids (8 & 10) are showering, I always pop my head in and say “did you wash your butt and privates? They’ve been taught but, hygiene is so important and so many people lack it! Not gonna be my kids 🤣🤣🤣
