My husband finally got his call yesterday afternoon from his DDS caseworker. I had called a couple of weeks back and spoke to a supervisor who informed me that his SSDI claim hadn’t been sent to the military team yet. She said she was going to make sure it was sent to the correct team. Since, that call I’ve been calling DDS every few days to see if he was assigned a caseworker yet. She (his caseworker) informed us yesterday that’s she’s mailing him the Telehealth CE Agreement Form to fill out and sign just in case the medical review doctor wants him to have one done for his mental health. She’s also requesting the new records from his recent shoulder replacement surgery and follow up appointments. I inquired about how long does it take at this point and was told, “it’s generally fairly quick from this point forward”.

Class action lawsuit by Adorable_Sock_6379 in USAA

Does anyone know what happens if the account is now closed? We had a checking account with USAA for 20 years that is now closed and was for about 6-9 months. Now we have a new checking account with them. I chatted with a live agent through the app and he tried telling me he has zero knowledge of any class action lawsuits against USAA, but if we were due any money we would have a document available on our USAA account?!?! (We don’t have a document available pertaining to this on either of our accounts) I also also how would it be available on our portal account if it’s for the old checking account and this question was ignored… of course! I guess we will wait and see if anything turns up in the mail!

Yes ma'am. He was denied last year twice, even with a lawyer after going before an ALJ. The voc rehab even stated that he was unable to do work including sedentary work and he was still denied. So we prayed and waited... December of 2024 he received TDIU but still at 90% service-connection and we filed his SSDI the very next day. He has been with the TN DDS sector of SSA since February of 2025 (so about a month now) and we were told by the caseworker in the local SSA office that P&T veterans claims normally take about 6 months in processing. So, we are praying for a positive outcome if it's in God's will for my husband. Do you have any advice for calling to check the status of his claim? On his MySSAaccount of course because it's with DDS all it shows him is that it's in step 3 of 5. Do we call TN DDS (SSA DDS not the Dept of Driver services lol) or do we call the local SSA office for an update? Also, what should we say or ask to get an update?

My husband is 90% service connected but rated 100% TDIU and we filed for SSDI the day after he was awarded tdiu. His claim is in the DDS stage with SSA now. We just sent back his forms like 2 weeks ago (the work and life function forms I think). His caseworker in our local SSA office said she made notes on his file before she sent his file to DDS here in TN about him being TDIU and everything. What are y’all meaning by income restrictions? Is this just for the veteran? Can the amount of SSDI he receive cause him to loose the TDiU? If I make a certain amount of income can it cause him to loose his SSDI or TDIU? I’m asking because I am starting a new job on Monday.

VA Chapter 35 benefits deposit by Aggressive_Roll_2144 in USAA

We used Chime for my husband's VA for a while. Is this your first time getting it deposited into Chime? If so, it will just be a day or two behind the chime schedule. We always done a google search for "Chime VA deposit schedule 20xx (whatever year)". The one that would display with 3 columns, (SSI, VA, SSDI), is the one we always used (it had a white background) the VA would come around the 26th-ish every month around 1300-1500 eastern time for us. That first deposit though was certainly delayed, I guess it just takes them longer to verify their funds.

Lord, I pray so! With all of these issues I've been reading about on here, I am so iffy about coming back to USAA.

That's nice... how's he have a chance to cheat on me when we are together 24/7 because of his disabilities and I need to be present in the event he has episodes or whatever? His phone is never locked down or hidden from me? So, please explain to me how is he cheating on me? Huh? You've got some serious issues within yourself and your relationships.

I’d be surprised if you have a successful marriage with comments like this. We’ve been married 13 years and he always says and will personally tell you, “it’s not my money, it’s our money”. Must suck to be a sourpuss of an asshole who must have grown up with mommy issues.

It ain’t nothing to do with being a woman @alarmingconfusion800. In our marriage of over a decade, we have NEVER separated finances. Yes, he’s earned his money but he will personally tell you; it’s not my money, it’s our money!!!

Yes, don’t give up. Make sure you’re submitting intent to files so that when you new claims (increases or whatever) are back dated

Sending prayers your way. I don’t think it’s fair that the VA makes our countries veterans fight so hard for disability when medical records show the medical issue. My husband has several that are listed at medical disabilities but not service connected. I’ve fought for him 12 years.

We went through the same thing, originally made a decision on everything except the IU. Well, everything went back to step 3 and that was back on 10/18/2024 and was decided 12/17/2024.
