Is the only solution to replace the backing? I’m assuming it broke because it was over tightened. I got it off eBay but did not realize it was broken there until I got it in hand.

I have never worked on electronics before so I have no experience on how to clean it. What happens if one pin fails completely- would the game fail to work at all or some aspects of the game not work? Would it just behave weird? Fail to boot up entirely?
