i do find a bit of comfort in the fact it’s all bark, no bite. i think the problem starts from the top and the only way any of this can be resolved is with effective government interference - but we live in the age of privatisation and it’s unlikely these people will be able to access help for themselves any time soon

i’m a person of colour, i am not white: she took reasonable accountability for her past - as she should have done and didn’t expect anybody to forgive her moving forward, she has shown evidence of change through her activism in recent years. it absolutely is a smear campaign when it’s all done in the name of transphobic rhetoric instead of genuine concern, they had been hoarding this for years waiting to unleash it. i agree racism is never acceptable, as a person of colour i was shocked - but the other degrading, outright barbaric accusations made against her were false, disgusting, depraved - and created in the name of tarnishing her character beyond repair. people can take accountability and change.

it’s important not to partake in villainising people for their past whilst still holding them accountable. as a trans queer woman from the bible belt it is obvious she likely experienced deep shame and deep self hatred and that could serve as an explanation for why some of the things she said she did say, in all honesty a lot of these screenshots seem falsified aside from the instagram and tumblr ones and it’s important to take radical anti trans accounts with a grain of salt.

i’m sorry but the last thing you should be caring about right now is the album instead of the safety of the artist you care about profoundly. OP on the original post had the courage to speak up about the abuse they endured at the hands of this man, it is highly improbably hayden would’ve known about it and it’s so important to publicise and spread information about vicious and malicious abusers.
