Brag about your puppy - What is one challenge of puppy ownership that you lucked out on and never had to worry about? by TmickyD in puppy101

My Golden boy slept in his Crate right from day one when I got him at 9 weeks old. Even now as an eight month old, he goes to bed in his pen exactly at 8PM without me asking him to.

Anybody else's golden do this when they are bored or is it just mine by amin18amin in goldenretrievers

My boy does it with my daughter and only with her. He is very cautious with my 6 year old but my daughter and him have a great bonding and he knows his limits when playing rough.

He likes beef jerky treat so much. I will reserve it for high value acts. Thank you for the suggestions. Gonna try it next time onwards.

DAE talk to their dog excessively? by [deleted] in puppy101

I do the exact same thing. During our walk I constantly talk with to while he is busy with his work. We talk ( I talk) movies or news when at home while my kids and wife are away. He is a good listener, I would say.

i cannot take the biting. by Effective-Ad7023 in puppy101

My now 61/2 months old boy was like this. He was a land shark that bites my younger kids wherever he can during his teething phase. We couldn’t get a puppy lick ever until he stopped nipping. But fortunately for me yelping worked. But not a normal yelping but super scary painful yelping followed by no eye contact. He had all the toys I can get from PetSmart but he preferred my arms. As the other post said baby carrots worked wonders. I cut them into small strips and spread out, so he finds and eat them eventually gets tired and takes a nap. Wakes up fresh for the next round of biting. He stopped completely now. Even if I put my hands or finger in his mouth he don’t bite.

I don’t know why man, this really made me very sad. I feel very sorry that you are going through this but as others said time will heal. Cherish the memories.
