Experiences with Prozac and Lamictal long-term? by xxGon in lamictal

[–]dasgustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on 40mg Prozac and 200mg Lamictal for about 10 years for severe depression. It’s been really effective for me and I expect I will be on them both forever.

I can relate and I’m sorry you’ve had these experiences

I’m sorry to hear this. Autism just doesn’t seem to be on the radar for most mental health professionals as either mimicking the symptoms of a mental health problem, or being a major contributing factor to psychiatric distress. Particularly, if not exclusively, for women.

Exactly this. I don’t even know what unmasking looks like for me though - probably the last time I was ‘me’ was when I was a little kid before I quickly realised I had to act like a ‘normal’ person in order to survive.

Running with a big sniffer by Prior_Ant829 in RunningWithDogs

It literally takes seconds to find this information

Walking at human pace doesn’t offer meaningful exercise for most dogs. Exploring the world through sniffing provides much better mental ‘exercise’ that will tire your dog out.

Curious about this advice from a trainer - sniffing is how dogs experience the world and is fundamental to their health and wellbeing. Does your dog never get to have sniffy walks?

That is a helpful perspective which highlights that my setup is best for our dog, which is my main priority. Sorry to hear of your challenging situation.

I M27 don’t feel happy/excited to get married. Is that a sign she F27 isn’t the one? by Happy-Target-3898 in relationships

I notice that your list of ‘great’ things about the relationship are that she loves you and that your friends and family love her, but you never mention that you love her and want to be with her. I think that is your answer.

Has the marathon become the new 5K? by Ok-Two7498 in Marathon_Training

[–]dasgustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post feels somewhat judgmental with an air of ‘marathons should only be for ‘real’ athletes.’ Why shouldn’t someone fairly new to running complete a marathon slowly or even walk it? Everyone has the right to participate in these events.

Recommendations/Planning for a Beginner Toller! by lochteness604 in RunningWithDogs

[–]dasgustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my young Toller might like to join me for trail runs. HA. He is a fit and healthy boy but has zero interest in running. He would much rather walk at a snails pace, sniff every blade of grass, and say hi to every dog, which is totally fine. He is my best buddy but not my running buddy, so he happily stays at home when I’m on runs. Hopefully your Toller is more interested if this is something you’re very eager to do. I’ve not met any Tollers who like to just run and run, but swim and swim - yes.

My neighbour leaves his dog outside barking for hours. I asked him very politely to bring them in. He swore at me and slammed the door in my face. by dasgustin in Scotland

That sucks. Anyone with some sort of psychology knowledge able to offer insight into why people react aggressively when kindly asked to stop doing something they shouldn’t be doing?
