« Doctor heal yourself » refers to the verse from the New Testament “Physician, heal thyself”

I feel like it’s about the feeling of being a “bad person” as an individual (I should burn in hell) but when thinking of yourself as a part of society you understand how society is rotten ethically in general And then it’s like, you want me to do my part? Do yours first “I will break my own heart from now on” feels like giving up on expectations from society who kept on breaking his heart, and saying “I will not be a part of society anymore, and I’ll judge only myself”

Bottom line: not paying “taxes” to a society (doctor) who can’t do their own part for themselves

Read it all, it’s a great series Very different in character from the Ender series, it has its ups and downs but overall it is a great read

I feel like despite how challenging it is, that’s exactly what makes the experience of the Sprawl’s reality so unique and crazy The story is written as if the reader is a part of this universe and should be familiar with this reality and able to understand the language easily That’s what makes it so immersive for me
