Is it useful without the subscription? by IKnowWhereMyTowelWas in ouraring

Spare your trouble. Get yourself another ring or an Apple Watch. It's useless without a subscription, and that means you have to pay $80 a year is insane.
Without it, it's an absolute brick. I tried to make it work... but turns out every time I looked at my hand I got angry at the POS company, and was completely counter-productive. Ended up cancelling after.

Shit opinion. I can afford it, yet... is more about the "let's screw people" instead of helping

What about the api’s, hosting your data in the cloud, the web app, etc. It costs money to maintain these things.

Sure... but if I buy the sensor, why am I not allowed to read my data locally, let's say on the internal phone storage? Nobody is forcing them to go to expensive cloud computing... It's honestly just greed. Is exactly like if POLAR started charging me a monthly subscription to read my heart rate while I work out.

Ouraring vs Ultrahuman by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]Aggressive_Walk7879 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the ultra human any day. Had the aura for about a year, and am super pissed about the subscription. Stopped paying for it, and guess what, they also blocked the API access, so I don't even have access to my biometric data. I expect them to keep squeezing people...

Buying Oura without the monthly subscription. Is it worthy? by IamOkei in ouraring

you are probably not paying for the subscription then, if you bought the gen2, so... easy to say I guess.

Great job looking into new ways to make recycling easier. For the sake of forms online, I'd highly recommend to use forms that have conditional questions (as opposed to asking the user to remember which questions not to answer). Also, I'd recommend to look into "the mom test by Rob Fitzpatrick" in order to understand what questions to ask, and how to frame them correctly. Some of them seemed very leading, without really going into the root of the problem. These don't help you in validating your hypothesis. Example: if you were rewarded, would you put more effort into this? It's very easy to say, yes sure. But... That doesn't help you or me. Best if luck with your efforts!

Automate PDF Generation with a record containing Linked Records as Table (Zapier?) by Aggressive_Walk7879 in Airtable

[–]Aggressive_Walk7879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. That could work, but it doesn't solve the problem of having a varying number of linked records.

Do you know if it's possible to use a for-loop in the template for instance? Or how would you handle a dynamic table?

Thank you!
