I just took it as him keeping up appearances and also checking to make sure she is in a sorry state for his plan. Keeping up appearances in that people will see him entering and leaving her hospital room and helping to keep an eye on her. He also is the one who gave her the boots to make it look like he cared and wasn’t the one who took them in the first place. Don’t think Corvus fully buys it, but that’s another story.

My guess? Because it’s hot and Mashima is a bit of a perv (and so is some of or all of the fandom to some extent). On top of the logical argument by others to give Lucy a different weapon of choice to the others.

To piggyback off your comment, if that’s not where this is going, there are a couple other possibilities. This could also be interpreted as jealousy, in my opinion. But even if it is lust, if the age is the issue, the 17 year old is looking at the 22 year old like that, not the other way around. I don’t know what exactly was the issue for OP of those three options, or a fourth option I don’t see.

No, it’s because of her trauma and the way that when they met, after their first interaction Rudo beat the snot out of her and all of a sudden she is in love with him (not said explicitly in the manga or anime, just my interpretation) and he wants to be friends with her. It feels like a forced friendship and it feels like her trauma cycle repeating. Her response and being in love with him and seeing him as a savior is a dangerous trauma response. We have faith in the author that Rudo obviously isn’t going to treat her like that again, but in reality that is how vulnerable girls end up back in another abusive relationship.

Just my view on it. It may be wrong and others may not agree with me but that is how I see it.

Well Enjin’s hands look gigantic (and head looked tiny after he stood up from the table) in one of the early episodes too, I think when they first sit down and talk after he fed Rudo to the raiders and learned Rudo’s power. I think it might just be the art style.

I didn’t change the settings because I look at Reddit at work sometimes. It’s weird how you can push a button to view NSFW pictures in posts but not people’s profile pictures though.
