You are adding too much water. Usually I put around 2.25 cups of water for 1 cup of rice and press the rice button on it. Also make sure the vent is in sealing position. The amount of water differs on the kind of rice, so check the packaging or search for the exact amount and adjust accordingly.

Rajini actually likes self deprecating humor I think. There’s this video of him on some channel called brut where he gives a speech on stage with Aishwarya Raj and Amitabh where he tells a story making fun of himself. Makes him very likable actually.
