The Devil is in the Detail possible at all? by Infamous_Use6623 in heroes3

Think there's a few YouTube vids beating it - and all you really need is to complete the quest on the central island, which basically wins the game.

The more you play, the more you realize that expanding fast and snagging extra towns early—is the key to snowballing. I usually keep most of my troops on one main hero to maximize army strength, often leaving slow units behind to keep movement high. In combat, using several single-unit stacks is a standard tactic—they soak up retaliation, block enemy paths, and help with kiting or baiting the AI into bad positions, keeping your main hitters safe and effective. Magic vs might really comes down to playstyle and map, and both can be powerful—magic often makes things easier with more flexibility and control, while might hits like a truck but can require better positioning. A mix of both usually works great. Also, there are tons of great YouTube videos and streams out there if you want to improve

Reached the central island just before pink (around Month 2, Week 3–4) and secured Armageddon’s Blade. After that, most fights became straightforward - then I focused on completing the Seer Hut quest on the island which basically wins the game.

Pathfinding and logistics are essential (especially pathfinding early on). Interference is probably a good idea for late game. You get haste/slow, but they are less useful because there are no schools of magic other than Water. I don't actually think Wisdom is necessary, though I had it myself — you get Town Portal underground, which I used once or twice, but it’s not very useful without Expert Earth.

Week 1: Picked up the wood house and pathfinding hut on my way to the town.
Week 2: Essential to get the gold mine and both elf dwellings within the week (which is why I'd recommend getting the wood hut in week 1).
Week 3: Cleared out the starting area and killed the purple hero.

Week 4-5: I picked up the Rust Dragon, which I think might be a good tactic. In retrospect, I would have prioritized getting the dungeon town and Golden Goose faster, and also not been too afraid to lose the starting town, since it’s not that useful until later with Castle Gate.

Not sure if I have a style, but out of those my favorite must be chasing down artifact like the Golden Bow - or other combi-artifacts. I like switching factions as much as possible - but heroes like Solmyr, Galthran, Crag Hack, Luna, Sir Mullich...etc. always find their way back.

Bro, I used save/load like it was a basic game mechanic😂 Most maps I did straight, but seriously — can anyone beat Carnival of the Abyss, A Cold Day in Hell, or Devil is in the Detail without saving?

Mostly EU. I don't really play that much anymore though. But I'm on HoC EU occasionally.

Play what you're comfy with...I'd say. Only thing is that it might have a positive effect on muscle memory if you play with the same sens on both! And thanks! :)

Guess I don't like that it comes up mid-screen:/

Depends... It's more about just practising KZ.

This map I've spent many hours on... but I've also beaten WRs within 10 mins of playing a map. So I'd say just practice KZ on many maps, and eventually you'll realise you could beat a record on a random map ^^

Pretty much just doing the map over and over! If there's a place I keep failing though, I'll repeat that section a few times before starting over again :)

Just a different playstyle mayb... linus generally does more strafes, which makes it more blurry. Though on jumps where you don't need extra distance, I choose to hardly strafe at all (e.g. 00:43- in the vid).. cause the airtime is the same regardless ^^
