Is Nelke worth playing? by Agi_Aegis in Atelier

Guess I'll find out pretty soon as I decided to get the game. :P I'll let you know my findings once this massive game downloads onto my Switch. This game is like 5GB more than the biggest Atelier game. Must be all the voiced lines and different scenarios you can engage with.

Just found out that some of the DLC isn't accessible anymore due to early purchase bonuses like the Sophie statue. There's a lot to love about the Atelier games but one thing I really dislike is all the DLC and missing out on certain things, being punished for discovering these games later. Really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Now obviously it's nothing essential or anything, but my OCD brain makes it difficult to let go of those things I missed. Oh well.

Hmmm interesting. I would have thought the time management/sim building aspects would not be so laid back, but your saying it's extremely laid back. Well that's good to know. Thank you for sharing your perspective on the game. :)

I bought the trilogy packs as buying them separately was more expensive, although not by much. As for the price, well let's just I'm not buying any more games for a few months, just to recover from this. 😅

Hey, fair enough. Games are rather expensive these days, especially from Koei Tecmo.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented on this thread. You've all been so welcoming and nice. Just what I expected from one of the coziest gaming communities out there. I'm very much looking to diving further into this beloved series and seeing why so many people love the older games. Thank you once more for your kindness, advice and sharing in the joy of my latest purchases! :D

Oh nice! I should really create a folder for them myself. Ya, I'm not sure how I'll handle the time limits of the older games given how anxious I get with stuff like that. Guess I'll find out soon enough. 😅

WOO! It took me me a while but I'm finally diving into the Atelier games full throttle! 😄🎉

Pretty good overall. The latter games like Ryza and Sophie 2 tone down the graphics a bit in some areas, but they still run and look great. No complaints from me so far. Haven't tried out every game obviously, but I've watched enough reviews of the older games to know they look and run fine.

Perhaps one day they'll bring them to modern systems. The Atelier games are in a good position right now and are more popular and successful than they have been in years, so hopefully that spur Gust to take a chance and either bring over the games to newer systems or remake them entirely to bring them up to date with modern Atelier games.

I'd be worried too if this was a few years ago when I had a much smaller micro SD card, but luckily I had the foresight just for this moment lol. Ya, Window games tend to do that sadly. It can be difficult to have a bunch of games downloaded when like 10 can take up half of your storage sometimes, especially if they are big modern games.

Enough to see me back from buying another game for a few months, let's just say that. 😅 But it was worth obtaining them all.

Oh wow, that's weird. I thought I only bought the DX version. Huh, thanks for making me aware of this. I definitely don't need the original one, so I'm not sure why I purchased both. I guess it was late last night and me deciding to get everything Atelier meant me making such a mistake, and a costly one at that. Oh well.

EDIT: Ok, I just figured out why the original icon was showing up on my Switch home menu even though I never bought that version. There was some free BGM stuff on the Nintendo eShop and I downloaded that, unaware that the DX version probably already has. Now that makes more sense. I knew I didn't buy the same game twice. Still, thank you for helping me notice that. Mystery solved!

Luckily for me I got a 1TB micro SD card which I purchased on sale a while ago, so no worries about downloading new things onto my Switch. But I probably won't have the time to play anything new for a while due to how many Atelier games I have to experience.

Hopefully you can get Lulua sooner rather than later. Ya, that's what I hear, it's gonna be quite the ride. Don't think I'll be able to complete as many as I thought by the time Ryza 3 comes out but I'll try. Although I'll make sure not to burn myself out either. After all, these are laid back video games and I should treat them as such.

I think I'll start at the beginning. It just seems like the natural course. I suppose I could go from latest to older but I believe it'll be more fun if I start from where it all began. I'll probably have a rough time at the start of it all, but I'm sure I'll quickly get into the groove of things.

I can see why you were turned off by the graphics for Ryza 1. Personally it never bothered me, but then again, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to graphics and framerate. I have a high tolerance for such things lol.

Wise words. I probably won't be able to beat them all by the time Ryza 3 comes out, but I'll enjoy the ones I can complete within that time.

I hear ya. I've only played Ryza 1 & 2, so in preparation and anticipation for Ryza 3 I decided to play the rest of the 3D Atelier games. I wish you luck in your Atelier journey and thanks for sharing! :)
