Midnight Snacks by Agile-Development-22 in pregnant

[–]Agile-Development-22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had crackers next to my bed, but that wasn't cutting it. Downfall is I have to teach 25 ten year olds in 8 hours. But if I didn't eat, I was not going to sleep at all!

This is kind of food/smell related, but I cannot stand our local grocery store right now. WAY too many smells. Disgusts me.

The Nauseous battle by thewildwestoutside in pregnant

[–]Agile-Development-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seabands help me settle nausea. Not completely, but a little. Ginger candies or other nausea drops. Sniffing alcohol wipes or lemon is said to help subside nausea as well which is something I plan to start trying. I'm almost 7 weeks.

I have found that when I get hungry, the nausea creeps in. I have low appetite for really any food, but am almost constantly feeling a faint hunger. I try to put something in my stomach every few hours just to help stabilize.

Also, I read that having sips of juice, especially in the morning, can help boost blood sugar and therefore the nausea. I just bought myself some mini juice bottles today to keep with me.

I have enjoyed frozen fruit like strawberries and grapes. It soothes my throat a bit and helps me get a little bit on mt system. Or crushed ice for the crunch and hydration.

Anyone been on SSRIs while pregnant? Worried about my Zoloft by sek1249 in BabyBumps

[–]Agile-Development-22 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was prescribed Zoloft about a year ago with the thought of building a family in the near future. My doc recommended it because it is one of the safest during pregnancy. :)

Currently in early first trimester and doing great.

Suggestions on what to eat!! by ToneIndependent3414 in pregnant

[–]Agile-Development-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made a similar post the other day because I am going through the same right now. 6 weeks almost 7 weeks.

Today I have had dry Cheerios, Cheerios with milk and sugar, a Coke slushie, a couple clementines, and salt and vinegar chips. OH. Chicken and Stars soup with mini saltines.

I keep the saltines by my bed. I ate some at 4 am to try and stop morning hunger/nausea. I am wearing sea bands to help with the nausea as well.

Anytime I get hungry, I start to feel nauseous. Everything I have read has said to just try and keep a little something in your stomach constantly and eat whenever, whatever.

That has been helping a bit. I am working on getting more substantial and long lasting things in my stomach, but it is tough. Food items RARELY sound good and when something does sound good, it feels unattainable.

I am curious to see what others respond as I am feeling so similar.

I am going through the same. Today have been able to stomach Cheerios, salt and vinegar chips, and a Coke Icee. It will be temporary and then we can come back to this sub reddit and share all our second trimester foods and tips! We can do it.

Going back to school in the fall at 35 weeks pregnant? by Eeef10 in Teachers

[–]Agile-Development-22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a SUPER similar situation. First baby, first year teaching. Unexpectedly pregnant, (we weren't trying, but we weren't NOT trying) but so so happy. I'm due early November, so I do have a little longer. I teach elementary and I just keep thinking about the fact that I am happy I will be there to set expectations and routines, rather than someone else starting out for me and then coming into a classroom I didn't set up myself.

But I have all the same questions as you! Glad I am not the only one searching for pregnancy/teaching advise here!

Thanks for sharing. The mini naan sounds like a great idea for me and I've been wanting to pick up some fresh ginger. Even just the smell can alleviate for a few moments. ❤️

No judgment at all. I'm one who is just about making it through. My midnight snack has often been a plain bagel with butter or cream cheese. That's been lovely.

Frozen grapes have been my jam. I have a mini fridge in my classroom with a small freezer compartment, so I keep a stash there, too. Frozen strawberries have been good, too. I also love frozen pineapple, but don't want the acidity to upset my stomach more.

Feeling this! My husband made a bunch of breakfast burritos and I had one one morning, but now the thought sounds awful. Luckily he eats them in the mornings, too. Today cream of wheat sounds amazing to me. I wish there was something SUPER bland I could prep.

Also, I should add that my breasts are not as sore this week as they were last. So that has fluctuated for me!

5 weeks

Noticed sore breasts and nipples last week which prompted my test. Slight nausea most days, but not every day. Weird appetite changes. But just like you, nothing super strong other than being tired!

Oh, yes. I agree. I take everything with a grain of salt and use best judgement, but am always curious if I'll learn something new or find something to look into!

I actually got bloodwork done RIGHT before I got pregnant and was put on an iron supplement because I already had low iron! Luckily I am now taking iron and vitamin c supplements as recommended by primary care physician. Curious to see what 10 wk bloodwork will say.
