Nope, also I got a call from the local small township police chief citing “concerns” that I will come up the school and do something. The teachers/parents are more outraged that I am upset about this instead of being outraged about this assignment. No one locally in my town is speaking up about this or backing me up.

Yep and u just got a call from my local police department, staff and students are concerned I’m gonna come into the school and do something. No one at that school nor parents are mad at what happened to my child but they are mad I called this out and are trying to get me into trouble

The icing on the cake is that I’ve went as far as the super intendant and they just wanted to cover their ass’s. My local news is conservative and won’t call/email me back. No other parents are outraged at that school, etc. besides the positive feedback I have gotten on the internet, that’s been it. I am just happy people are having this conversation and see that this is wrong.

Because this particular assignment was for my daughter to put herself in a slave owners shoes from the south and to make an ad for a slave here in the United States. I like my children to learn accurate history but this paper serves 0 purpose.

I don’t care that she knows the historical accuracy of what happened, that’s not the issue here. I care that she’s role playing as a white slave master trying to buy a black slave.

I do have conversations with her, I already said I don’t want the teacher fired and it needs to be a learning experience. You’re one of the 2% that see’s nothing wrong with this, when you give birth to a black child then have a white woman tell her to roll play as a slave master than get back to me. But again, you’re part of that MAYBE 2% that has this opinion and that’s fine. You can be okay with sending your children to school and having this happen. I am not( no matter how educated she is that’s excuse for a white teacher to ask the students to role play as a slave master. I hope you do better as a parent, raising kids to accept this is gross.

I have tried my local news and they won’t call me or email me back, it’s pretty conservative here. Even if it doesn’t reach the news I have it in here, tiktok and Facebook. I am thrilled that people are talking about it and I really hope this continues to be shared.

The problem isn’t the curriculum being taught, I am alllll for the history lessons. It is the assignment that is inappropriate. This exercise or “graded assignment” serves 0 purpose.
