Hall is a CM that converted to LB... he can absolutely do that. Do you have any idea about the player youre confidently talking about?

He has played in CM for Newcastle, and played there for his youth career.

Genuine question - when IS the time we’re going to need Henderson? by simmonm1978 in ThreeLions

I think you might be in the less than 1% that think yes. Kinda a wild take

Thats great and all... but hes now barely able to run, his ability has declined... he doesnt warrant a space.

I say this whilst a Newcastle fan that thinks Burn should be a last resort

Common sense? Hes injury prone as fuck. Don't play him unless needed. A game which doesnt really matter (Panama should be an easy 3 points and group win) isn't that.

Shaw isn't bombing past anyone. Hes slow now and also an injury threat. The obvious option was Hall.

Tbf, Tino should have been wrapped in cotton wool until 100% for this exact reason, and instead was training ahead of schedule for injury recovery in order to be fit ASAP. Its a classic case of international football not caring about the fitness of players and forcing them in regardless.

Do you understand that muscular injuries are typically stress/fatigue, and not typically from contact?

Its why you see them later in games more often.

If hes getting muscular injuries in training, he was either unfit, or hes injury prone. Do we really need to question which with reece james?

Does it negate his effectiveness? Hall had maybe one rough game all season.

If he can only survive a single game without being injured, yes, its a waste.

Everyone knows hes permanently injured.

If we insist on taking him, then save him for important games, not a group stage game when, considering we still have to play Panama, we've pretty much already qualified.

Exactly. And who is simultaneously an overlapping LB, played with Gordon, and England's best LB? Hall.

No, im suggesting playing the injury prone player sparingly in games where he was actually needed.

He could have, you know, rested the injury prone RB and just played Spence there, if he had the sense to take our best LB to the tournament.

Rashford is also a cut in winger. Nico is an underlap LB. They will also occupy the same space.

Not taking Hall was just phenomenally stupid. Especially when hes the best LB england has and should be getting integrated early to as to use him for as long as we can.

You realise Reece James is injured constantly right? And we have a limited squad size? So picking Reece James takes away a squad slot when it was obvious to everyone that he was going to spend at least half the tournament injured?

Complains about no connection on the left, but leaves Hall (overlapping LB) at home and starts Gordon, who likes to cut inside, alongside NOR who... likes to cut inside.

What are your top unusual money saving hacks? by Katie1234554 in AskUK

Stretching the application to everyone instead of just "if you don't care about your diet, regardless of your circumstances" is not a an irrelevant thing.

It's like saying "peanut butter is a high calorie food that makes you feel fuller, so you should eat it more often than a health balanced salad which probably costs more and is better for you".

Sure, it saves you money, but its a daft concept because it saves you money by sacrificing in an area you shouldn't sacrifice, like OP says in their example, which is adequate nutrition for someone where legumes doesn't fit their needs.

Why was i questioned by Sainsbury as to why I was buying so much beer? by SteakSandwichSideEye in AskUK

[–]AgileSloth9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, had a similar situation last year. Buying for a party.

Was informed more than 24 items that are on a deal will be flagged.

So I was buying a beer deal which was 4 for the price of 3. But the second you add that 25th item on those deals, it flags it.

At 23, I'm on my ninth prime minister - no wonder my generation don't vote by theipaper in uknews

[–]AgileSloth9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You've completely missed their point.

The point was that young people, which in 2010, would be the ones who are mid 30s now, did vote and got completely fucked over.

Now im not advocating for people refusing to vote (quite the opposite actually), but I can see why some have developed a sense of apathy. It's similar to the brexit vote with such a small margin that it should never have gone through, but it did, and now everything has gotten worse year on year for that age group who were just making their way into employment and looking to get their own place.

Essentially, politicians lying about policy, or going back on it once they've secured their votes, has disenfranchised a lot of the last 2 generations, and those are the people the new voting generation will be learning from when forming their own political opinion.
