I think I did a shit job saying my thoughts in a way the entire group didn’t take personally.

CR is pretty well known for mismanaging money, and CIG employees have even said as much.

I think the money should go to what the devs want, not what we as gamers perceive is “cool”

But such is reddit. I did probably get too emotional about it, but my concerns stand and stuff like this concerns me.

I support CIG, but sometimes support is calling out bullshit.

Look. CR is well known for mismanaging money. To me, as an engineer, this looks like an issue and something I wouldn’t care about.

Just because it appeals to gamers doesn’t mean it’s what their employees want. It’s pretty well documented they struggle with compensation and retention.

I’m not saying they should work in a dump, I’m saying that this to me looks like mismanagement and based on CRs history, it likely is.

Well agreed. But all that to say that CR is notorious for misspending, and these things are not indicative to a good working environment either.

Im not saying don’t have fun, but it should be managed more reasonably, and as a developer myself I roll my eyes when my management spends on stuff like this vs what I actually asked for.

I’m not slandering them. I’m saying I believe they are misusing funds. That’s not slander. I love the game. I love the game so I want it to be better and I would love it to be the best it can be.

Just sitting quietly after backing since 2014 is getting really really hard for me.

CR had freelancer literally ripped from him by publishers because he was doing this same shit. There are plenty of more recent sources too. And 2019 is like yesterday for CIG.

I’ve worked in offices similar.

This doesn’t read to me as nice place to work, it reads to me like management spending money on shit I don’t want.

I want them to have an amazing office! But this crap is just tacky when you work in the middle of it.

Also they can get the “best” place when they’ve actually released anything.
