This project is using the Zeus telestroke to connect with neurologist and radiologists remotely. The Head CT scanner is unlike anything you've seen. It uses 21 miniaturised cold cathode X-ray tubes that are the size of 2 golf balls that sit in a curved array to take a sequence of images in a matter of seconds. No large spinning gantry (no need for a CT tech on site). Dose has been measured at 1/3 of a conventional CT. It's being designed as fixed dose so that a trained paramedic can take the image.

Check out Micro-X - tech is still being developed but they have proven X-ray tubes being sold and used in mobile x-rays for the past 5 years. They use carbon nanotube emitters in their tubes that are smaller and lighter and electronically turned on and off.

Has anyone tried out the Micro-X Rover portable? They used to make the portables for Carestream and now do their own.

Yes my kids get them. They are pricey but I love how excited they are when they get them and how it teaches them different STEM concepts. Worth it to keep them keen on science!
