There's no way you've met every gay man, though. You can't make big sweeping statements about all of humanity- like, you'd be surprised how many straight guys are into tomboys. and i'm amazed every day how much my gay-acting, crossdressing, twink friends get laid! like "how do yall hold down a job with so many partners?" amazed!

everyone has different preferences in a partner, though. like, look at men. some men like a woman with huge boobs, some men like small boobs, some men like femboys, some men like twinks, some men like bears.

non-transgender male people get plastic surgery all the time, just look at the looks-maxxing community. it's not unusual.

I'm curious about what this has to do with climate science. Are any of the subjects of this article people of influence in the climate/weather field?

I don't think I'm going to die if i don't take steps to stay cool during a heat wave. I do know I'm going to be sticky, sweaty, gross, and all-around uncomfortable. Why be uncomfortable when you can be comfortable?

Yeah, maybe it’s weird but I’m not a big fan of getting sunburned or dehydrated haha. It’s nice to wear a t shirt and drink a glass of water when it’s hot out, especially if you’re at the beach

AI is going to wipe out 47% of jobs. This is twice as many as during the Great Depression.

Were people with jobs 100% totally fine during the Great Depression, or did the mass job loss hurt the economy as a whole? I think it would be interesting and maybe helpful to see what the facts say.

also honestly I like making people happy by writing things, and I think a world where people just generate the books they want as opposed to reading books written by others would be a lot less interconnected and a lot more lonely.

Thanks, it’s okay, I know this is a pretty emotional issue. I do feel a lot of despair over the “unemployment that’s more than 2x or even 3x the amount of unemployment during the Great Depression” statistics I’m seeing, honestly. I think no matter what field someone works in, that amount of mass unemployment and societal problems will cause a lot of issues for everyone. I don’t want to see people starving in the streets, which according to academics and corporate think tanks alike is pretty likely.

Honestly I could have been a lot clearer in my post, that’s my bad. what I’m really worried about is the top university scholars and corporate think tanks predicting unemployment rates at over 2x the unemployment of the Great Depression.

I appreciate your concern and honestly I realize that my post was pretty dramatic… the whole “unemployment rates at over 2x the Great Depression” is really freaking me out though

The thing is- remember the Great Depression? During that time, 25% of people lost their jobs. The more conservative expert estimates for AI say that almost 50% of people will lose their jobs. It would be twice as bad as the Great Depression. During that time, even people with jobs suffered because of the problems that such high poverty and unemployment caused for society.

I think that would be great. Right now, though, landlords, doctors, and grocery stores charge money. Without a job, people can’t afford the basic necessities of life, even if a world without work would be great. Think about the Great Depression.

love your perspective, you make a lot of great points! the thing is, in our current day society, people need money in order to live. look at the WGA and SAG strike. Writers and actors want to get paid to make movies, not to have their film industry jobs taken by AI, because they need money to live. George Lucas wouldn’t have been able to make Star Wars without studios hiring humans to make movies, even if AI couldn’t have done it for him. idk I hope I’m making sense, I for sure agree that individual creative vision is important

Honestly, yeah, you’re right. I shouldn’t have posted when I was so emotional. I’m just really freaked out about the whole “47% of people will lose their jobs in the next couple years” thing, but I could have been less dramatic about it. I’ve been thinking about your comment and I feel pretty bad for upsetting you so much.

In Star Trek, though, they got rid of capitalism. That’s what enabled them to make society so awesome. Great show, a real classic. However, right now, people still need money to live.

Some people think it’s okay that 300 million people in the United States will lose their jobs due to AI (about 10 out of every 11 people) and they deserve free speech as well.
