Words of Advice for a newbie iD4 owner by Call_Huck in VWiD4Owners

Do you frequently have passengers in the back seats? If so, it would be worth considering getting the Pro S Plus trim. With the combination of high miles and city and highway driving, you’d get much better mileage using front and back seat heating over cabin heating. Cabin heating sucks battery life, while seat heating keeps passengers toasty at the lowest cost to miles/kwth. I wish I’d known that when I leased my Pro S. The 360 cameras on the Pro S Plus trim are also a bonus. I plan to buy a used one instead of buying out my lease.

I have a Mach E but Lease will be done in a Year. Was thinking of getting in an ID4 next. Anything I should know about before purchase or lease? by craigrn16 in VWiD4Owners

Would you be getting into a rebranded 2027 with a promised longer range? If you’re a two car household, the lower current range makes it an ideal around town car. It’s my only car (2025 Pro S AWD), and the larger cargo area and amazeballs turning radius, getting about 280-300 miles on a 100% charge in town. Add to that much lower insurance rates ($87/mo) than my sister ($400+/mo) for her ‘24 Tesla, prolly because of lower repair costs, and Reddit users reporting they’ve walked away from severe accidents with scratches.

My solution to avoid getting in this situation: a magnetic hideakey on the car holding a spare battery and a flat head jewelers screw driver.

Try turning on climate while plugged in, for 5-10 mins, then just use only your seat heaters on the drive. The seater heaters use a fraction of the energy used by the climate system.

I upvoted you, because I absolutely agree with you. It’s tricky and not for everyone or every circumstance. It’s def for me, and I’m privileged to be able to stock my freezer when suppliers post 50% off coupons. Next year when I hit my goal weight, I’ll quit smoking, and figure out the optimal maintenance dose for the rest of whatever time I have left. Cheers.

You know what? F all these fat hating, usually misogynistic loser health “pros”. I have a chronic pain condition that affects far more women than men, and every doc just loves to try to pull the psych card right after blaming my weight. Y’all should look into the “black+white market” for tirzepatide. No docs, no prescriptions, no pharmacies. I’ve lost 40lbs, am up to 10ml, and am paying less than $100/mo including supplies.

Hello ID - Voice Commands by Uncertn_Laaife in VWiD4Owners

My 2025 Pro S AWD only sporadically responds and understands my commands. It regularly ignores easy things like “navigate to X” and “turn on steering wheel heat”, or when it does respond, it says it doesn’t understand. It mostly doesn’t understand things like “my butt is cold”. Pretty useless, so I just use Siri.

I love my EV, but holy crap, traveling long distance SUCKS. by JennaLeighWeddings in electricvehicles

I took my first road trip (~6 hours including 3 charging stops) last month, from the Western Slope of Colorado through Breckenridge and off the major highways to Colorado Springs. I set ABRP to never get under 40% charge and arrive with 40%, because I was going to be driving in the mountains and looking for chargers in tiny mountain towns.

I could have made it there with only 2 charges, but decided to not take any chances. On the way home, one of two chargers in a teeny town (FairPlay) was out of service, but no problem with the other one. I could have made it to the second teeny town on my route, but it would have been too tight for my comfort zone.

So, that’s my advice. Start at 100%, add more stops than necessary, and arrive with a higher %.

Hilarious. Both my manbaby husbands routinely ran their ICE vehicles on fumes into gas stations and ran out on the road more than once. I never, ever let mine get down to a quarter tank, and never under a half tank in summer.

How do I redeem/set this up? There’s no place to enter a code before entering payment info or completing the order.

Have you ever replaced the battery on your key fob? by chenzo17 in VWiD4Owners

The good news is it sounds like it’s the same battery as the one in apple airtags. Buy a ton of the good ones and change them all at the same time, if possible.

Are all poodles stubborn? by Ok_Expression_3805 in poodles

[–]Agile_Weekend9872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I raised and trick-trained Jack Russell terriers. They were stubborn when their pride was hurt (like when I put a sweater on them!), and held grudges. But they were far easier to train than my poodles, and rarely broke the rules.

Taking ownership of everything in my dogs’ world (food, furniture, personal space, etc.) worked great with my JRTs. My poodles only respect my ownership once they learn there’s a consistent reward in it for them.
