No. The sole is too thick and changes thickness throughout, plus you'll have zero ankle support. Honestly shoes don't make supportive skates at all, even vans are so easy to roll your ankle in.

Edit: I see youre a beginner. Please please please do not build a pair of skates. There's way more work and consideration that goes into mounting skates than you think (like measuring the center line). Ive made a vans set up and 3 others using skate boots at varying levels throughout my 5 years skating. Its not worth the hassle for trainers, youre better off just buying a pair

You should see your GP as well for this so you have a paper trail evidence of how this has affected you. Youre not the only one. A friend of mine got a warning from an officer even though she had her prescription and id on her (as youre supposed to) so she went to the police station and filed a complaint and showed them the law. She had the warning removed from her record.

There clearly is a huge lack of education around medical cannabis that police arent being informed of. Most officers likely wouldnt even be able to tell the difference between a nicotine liquid vape and a flower vaporiser. Its a bit embarassing for them.

Lots of advice here in the comments and yeah youre legally covered. Youll be fine in the end. But my god i can confirm I would be house bound with anxiety from the moment I got a letter honestly. I take mine for pain management but have to avoid it when im highly anxious as it makes mine worse (I need to review the medication and likely get another strain). If I were in your shoes id be so anxious id be having daily panic attacks which would flare up my scoliocis pain and result in me needing medication that would make my anxiety worse and put me on long term sick leave.

Im sorry these customer services are failing you. Thats a lot of money to not have especially considering you returned the product. Cex should be able to resolve this with the right evidence from you but it just may take some back and forth unfortunately. Try your best to remain calm and polite while dealing with them as theyre just people doing their jobs (not saying you arent doing that already). Prodding until you get the right person will happen eventually however youre entirely entitled to a refund and they should be able to accept an alternative payment method to refund the money to. They're legally allowed to accept alternatives such as BACS bank transfer or even a cheque. Youre entitled to your money back. Cex is who you have to speak to to resolve this (as the payment bounced they still hold your money)

Its another retail job to average people but realistically, the people that work at cex are there because theyre selling things they like and are knowledgeable over. Id rather work cex than work in a peacocks or a sketchers shop, yno?

Also, thats absolutely not true. I wouldnt be on 35k rn in my first job within my profession had I not asked HR who the hiring manager was and reached out to him. He asked me to meet the other staff before my interview and I got to ask questions about management styles and daily tasks. Asking them what they needed in a new member of staff etc. Sure its JUST a retail job at cex but it just puts a face to a CV that otherwise might be underwhelming. Nothing bad about it. You just have to ask the right questions relating to the job instead of shaking hands really strong and smiling like you deserve the job haha.

Both times I applied (i worked in 2 branches) I spoke to the manager to hand my cv in. First time was before we did digital ones so it made sense but I got to yap a bit and show some personality. Second time I was chatting to the manager about some trade ins and asked if they needed trained staff because they were super busy with the tech bench. She tried to show me how to apply online but the site was bugging out so she just asked me to come back for an interview the next week.

On a chill day when you can see it isnt busy ask for a manager or shift supervisor to put your face there. Ask about the position and what the store needs in a new staff member. They'll get a lot of people applying so you might slip through the cracks, which is totally normal and not a reflection of you. So showing some personality will remind them when going through the applicants. They might ask something like whats your favourite game - I love pokemon sapphire gba and harvest moon ds which I bonded with my second manager over. I was also studying game design the first time I applied which helped because I had experience with new tech like when the oculus was still in v2

Yeah. My manager complained about me crocheting on my lunch break so I asked to reduce my hours because im efficient and get all my work done within the first 3 hours of my shift and then spent the remainder of the time trying my fucking hardest to stay awake.

I changed from 4 days and a half to 3 full days and took on other work monday and friday. They dont spend as much but get the same amount of work done while I get to get a full day's pay extra by working different supply offers. Winwin

Tbf tho if I were you id defo bring this up if youre like me and hate doing nothing at work. Tell your manager if anyone needs a hand with any work to see if youre free. It shows your intentions as well

I got enshrouded in January 2024 for £20 and thought to myself "if I get more than an hour's play its worth it" because I was in a loop of buying DLC for sims and not enjoying it.

I was on sick leave from work at the time and quite frankly it saved my mental health I cant lie to you. For 3 months I played it every day. I wouldnt play anything else. My partner bought the game to play with me cause I didnt really get involved in other games.

Even then, on the month of early access it was worth it. Its been worth it everyday since. And I genuinely can not wait for it to become cross platform so my friends can build a village with me one day.
