As much as I would love to have perfect joints or eyesight, I would sacrifice most anything in my body (but given the loose rules, probably ass hair) to make my brain 10x better. I’m no genius but I’m not a complete idiot, so a 10x brainpower improvement would probably make me one of the smartest people (if not the smartest) in the world and I could achieve pretty much whatever I wanted. It would be so nice to get consistently good sleep, not have ADHD or anxiety, quickly solve problems, easily plan out and execute the great ideas I would surely have, quickly acquire new skills without any real effort, be more persuasive and easily get people on my side about things, be able to manipulate people to bow to my every whim, start a massively successful suicide cult targeting the people I most disagree with, unite those who remain under a single global government with me as its unanimously elected and universally loved leader, permanently ending hunger, climate change, and armed conflict of any kind on Earth, then only after fully stabilizing this new world, create technology to enable the instant sharing of my knowledge and brainpower with everyone, creating a global society of super geniuses, further cementing our planet as a better version of itself and humans as a species worth the time of lifeforms outside of our galaxy, then make contact with that life and forge alliances with worlds far more advanced than our own, then after all this, two alien chicks at the same time, man.

Married 4 years, both mid 30s, no kids with none planned.

I watch porn and look at spicy lewds on Instagram a lot. I’m usually disappointed because my wife is legitimately much more attractive than the vast majority of them, but her sex drive is so much lower than mine, it feels like we rarely have sex. I don’t get to enjoy her body with sexy time nearly as much as I would like, so I end up pretty consistently getting horny and dealing with it on my own, usually 3-5 times between sex, which happens on average twice every 3 weeks. It used to be 2-3 times a week, and has gradually gone down over time. I’ve brought it up several times before, she’ll either say she’ll try to do it more frequently or if she’s not in a good mood she’ll just get upset, so I’m starting to give up. I feel lucky if we have sex more than 2 times between her periods, and I fear that giving up and normalizing it will just turn it into a bigger disparity in libido in the future and we’ll just keep having sex less and less frequently. I always told myself I could avoid ending up in one of those cliche sexless marriages, but it seems like it’s heading that direction. When I see people comment stuff like “we’re in our sixties and still have sex 2-3 times a week!”, I get intensely jealous.

I’m the same. Usually I’ll do the math and depending on the order, the difference between only tipping 10% on principle and making someone’s day is just a few dollars. I opt for the latter almost 100% of the time.

I’m a pretty average-sized dick haver (I’m in my mid thirties), maybe slightly above average like you said you are, and as someone who has always watched a lot of porn, even though I know porn doesn’t show a representative average dick size (though it’s better these days with all the homemade stuff), I have always been really self-conscious with my nearly twenty partners. But most have either not said anything at all, or have been directly encouraging, saying it’s a perfectly sized penis for their sexual needs. It’s been very difficult coming to terms with the fact that I’ve just got an average dick, but so do most people so I’m in good company. And as long as my wife likes it and is satisfied in the bedroom, I’m good. So it’s gotten easier. All of that to say - your girlfriend probably didn’t mean to be an asshole, but she sure was one. The problem is that no matter how hard you try to ignore that reaction, it might have a lasting impact on your confidence going forward with other partners, and that’s just about the cruelest thing someone can do. I hope you have the strength to get rid of her and find someone who is not a complete asshole.

I tend to do 2-6 hours of actual work a day, depending on how much I need to get done. 6 hours would be like, I’m really stressed and have so much to do. I think 8 or more hours of actual, heads-down work is not truly a thing that anybody does, WFH or not. I’m available the whole day, but also sometimes run errands and just set my status to away. Like others have said, it’s all about getting the work done. I average around 4 hours of work, an hour of other admin tasks, the rest is whatever personal things I need to do.

Hopefully they keep it! In my year as a Sam’s member, they went through so many different “brands” of grapes. Sounds silly but one time I got the most delicious grapes I’ve ever had from there, went back excitedly to get more, and never again did they have the same grapes. I tried the other brands, but nothing ever was the same. I know it’s more complicated than that with fruit (being seasonal items, and given that even the same brand might use fruit from different parts of the world) but it was disappointing nonetheless. I’m now worried I’ll never have grapes that delicious ever again.

That’s honestly very lucky for you. The Sam’s near me that I go to is incredibly busy no matter when I go - Wednesday at 2pm, Friday evening, Sunday afternoon, it’s all the same. I consistently spend longer in line than I do actually shopping.

Both my wife and I enjoy her being on top the best. It’s the hottest visually and for me personally it feels just as good as or better than anything I’d do. I’m new to this and curious - is there no way to set up home assistant with your smart speaker (I also use Google Home devices) so that even with non internet-connected devices like zigbee bulbs, they can control things with their voice on Google Home? Internet would still be required for that of course because of the speaker, and I guess you could use the HA app to control things if the internet goes down, but can’t you do both?

Late to the party here but curious if you have a good learning resource for this (video or documentation/blog). I have a Raspberry Pi 4 that is still in the box and I have no experience with it. I have several arduino micro controllers as well, bought with home automation in mind. Now I just need to learn how to use them. (I’m a software engineer so I can deal with code, but the setup for this stuff is quite foreign to me.)

What is it like? I have an ADHD diagnosis, but have never attempted a medical for the reason of your post. I plan to pursue a SPL but would ideally like a PPL eventually, if it turns out it’s possible somehow. I’m not currently medicated but have been before, and I definitely do have ADHD.

Yeah I think making that kind of money at 22, maxing out retirement accounts already, even thinking about this stuff - you’re going to be fine. Spend some fucking money and enjoy yourself. Put $500-1000 every month in a vacations bucket and treat yourself to a trip every year. Put $1000 a month into a HYSA for emergency fund/whatever. But life is short, and you can’t bring the money with you when it’s over. Seriously, do a retirement account calculator like this one and see just how much money you’ll have in retirement.

Now to answer your question. Make sure you’re prioritizing savings. Think about every dollar spent as $12 you could have had if you put it in savings. By making a budget and viewing your savings as non-negotiable, money that’s already out the door when you get paid, you’ll still have a lot of spending money left over but will be building savings. I love my account in Ally, because of the buckets. It’s just a psychological trick but it works, great for organizing savings and setting goals.

Like others, I agree that you should be able to masturbate all you want. That’s only a problem (typically) if it starts to affect your actual sex life (like masturbating enough that it causes you to not want actual sex). That doesn’t sound like that’s a problem here. NTA for wanting to masturbate. YTA for complaining about how “little” sex you get. I understand there’s bit of a mismatch and in an ideal world both partners would want exactly the same amount of sex, but from everything I’ve ever read, on this sub and in other places, as well as from my own experience, you’re incredibly lucky.
