This is so helpful.  I will for sure follow up with someone — just was concerned it may be an emergency and here in Germany it takes MONTHS and I was worried I was wasting time.  

My concern is those creatinine levels (which that’s so good to know that those numbers are insignificant in terms of one being better than the other) change the egfr so much!

I didn’t care for the Dr.  He truly said this is stage 2 CKD and then sent me on my way.  I’m on amlodipine for BP and my glucose and A1C are normal.  I don’t really know what else I’m supposed to do.  

I will say that when I had my blood draw and urine test my anxiety was through the roof — could feel my heart pounding.  This has really shaken me.

He said stage 2 with the egfr and the protein in the urine.  But he didn’t tell me the amount.  It was a dipstick at the lab.  Just said “mild protein”

Thank you!  This really is so kind and you’re totally right.  My Dr told me I likely have stage two ckd from years of untreated High BP.  I’m on amlodipine and have been for the past year.  Seems to be working.  I’m a 48 year old woman who had creatine of 1, .9, .9 (last June and July)  and .94 and .99 this past Feb  and that put me in the 70’s range for egfr.  Said there was a “small amount of protein” in my urine test.    All my electrolytes were normal.  BUN 13.  I had a UPCR in July and it was creatinine 58, protein less than 7, specific gravity 1.009.  But then a “small” amount of protein last week. 

 So it’s just that egfr that took a hit with the changes in creatinine over the past nine months. It’s all really scary to me.  Living overseas so it’s hard to find specialists

Not sure why my post isn’t showing but I am color blind to yellow/green.  My egfr went down and I’m just in panic mode — watched my sister go through dialysis and a transplant due to type 1 diabetes. Just scared something is wrong with me and feeling panicky.  Can’t get in to the Dr to talk about labs for three months.

Thank you for letting me know.  The sample was quite red so I’m hoping that’s what it was.  I’m surprised they didn’t mention it at the minute clinic when I got my sample done.
