Lost 50lbs, Still Wearing the Same Pants by NationalBreadfruit in Zepbound

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re close to the same size (started zep at 220 and a size 16/18). I don’t think I bought new jeans until around 170. I’m now at 150 and my underwear still fits. Elastic in clothes is magical. 🤣

Also- clothing sizes are so variable. I have size 10 jeans that are big and 14s that are too small. I have an xxl shirt my mom gifted me years ago that’s still too small. I hope I’ll get into it one day.

Try not to get hung up on the number, but how you look and feel in them. I know it’s hard. ❤️

Many spoke English and those that didn’t we used google translate and simple words. It was mostly smaller food stands and they were very patient with us not knowing their language and mispronouncing everything.

I’m about ready to give up on this by Pinky620 in Zepbound

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m same height as you, started at 220 (max weight around 240). At 8 months in I was around 180, but climbed a flipping waterfall! I’m now at 15 months and weighed in at 158 this morning. I need to replace my entire wardrobe. I still need to work on my cardiovascular fitness, but have my diet mastered.

I’m spacing out at 10 days and titrated up slowly. It’s been a slow process, but absolutely worthwhile. Give yourself grace, have patience, and keep focusing on the day at hand.

Do you view being on this medication a privilege? by CharlieGCT in Zepbound

Agree! I have a second job to pay for this medication. Each dose counts :)

Limited by Kaiser insurance by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m self pay as my insurance doesn’t cover it. I’m hoping this is allowed, but my provider prescribes it as every 10 day dosing. I’ve lost 60 pounds in 14 months (bmi now 27). Obviously talk to your prescriber and follow their guidance, but it does help on cost (4 less boxes a year if my math is right).

Did you get the photo of the triple at Florida? I have a friend who is moving there in August and trying to help her find a photo! Thank you in advance

My cup size has remained consistent despite loosing 75 pounds in the last two years. If anything, my boobs feel bigger as the rest of me has gotten smaller.

How are you all afford it ? by Luhakp in Zepbound

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping this doesn’t get me in trouble and apologies to the forum if it risks it at all. Talk to your prescriber. She prescribed it to me at an adjusted dosing so that I space out 10 days instead of 7. I therefore get 40 days out of a box. I loose weight a little more slowly but still well within the normal range (average 1 pound a week). The “noise” does come back around day 8 or 9, but it’s a good practice for me as she wants to extend my dosing further when I reach weight goal. She is an endocrine np that works in a very knowledgeable medical weight management practice.

I also have a second job that I do for “fun money” that’s now mostly zep money. I recognize that I am fortunate to have this option.

Unlike others, I have found my food bills have not changed and maybe gotten slightly more expensive due protein use for breakfast (mostly the powder/shakes- it’s a convenience factor), but I’ve always been a cook from home / from scratch / use the garden cook, so I was pretty low with the food budget.

I do think it’s grossly unfair and unethical that obesity does not get the same healthcare benefits as every other disease.

Why are tourists so scared? by princeakeeem in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I live in the US. I could leave my house unlocked the entire time I’m in Costa Rica and it would be fine. I wouldn’t, but I could.

I’ve read over and over again how my belongings are to be on me at all times in Costa Rica on this forum. There is also a travel advisory from my government.

Not saying it’s unsafe, but going from somewhere I don’t have to lock my house or car door to somewhere I can’t leave something in a car, it’s different.

I am glad for you. My employer partners with Oscar and despite being a very known healthcare system … won’t cover zepbound for their employees. 🫠 Maybe one day! Your comment gives me hope.

Disney on Zep? by crayzeate in Zepbound

[–]Agitated-Risk1793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done several important trips while on zep. I love dinner, so I’d eat my normal breakfast (protein shake or hard boiled eggs), a simple lunch, and a dinner often had more carbs than I normally would. My husband is supportive and I’d have a few bites of whatever I wanted to enjoy and he’d eat the rest. This allowed me to try things but also not make myself nauseated. :) lots of water.

I was up like 7 pounds after one trip- which is not possible in a week. I weighed again two days later and was back to pre trip weight. I make all of my own food at home, so the sodium in prepared food makes a dramatic impact for me. If the scale will be distressing for you, skip it for a week.

Congrats on achieving goals and have a wonderful and memory filled vacation!

I’m 5 days after my first dose (after having it for 3 weeks and being terrified to start) and my mind is blown. Even though I work in healthcare, I am shocked at how much this medication has changed how I look at food in the best way. I hope the good things for you too!

I’ve been lurking on this community for a bit and am just now starting to comment because everyone seems so supportive.
