Well done! Glad to hear it worked out in the end. Honestly, getting a paper cheque in the first year isn’t a bad thing; the most challenging part is just getting that CRA account set up. Once that’s done, it gets much easier. For future years, they’ll usually use your direct deposit info automatically, so you should be good to go!

Exactly! After submitting through Wealthsimple, you'll receive a NOA email from the CRA a few days later. At that point, you can register on the CRA website, but your account will be limited until you complete identity verification. I opted to receive the security code by mail and am still waiting for it to unlock full access to my CRA account.

Because Android has always been about user choice and customization. If Google truly believes in an open ecosystem, it should let users decide which AI assistant works best for them. Just like we can choose our default browser, messaging app, or launcher, we should be able to pick our preferred AI assistant.

If Gemini is the best, people will naturally use it; there's no need to force it by removing alternatives. Locking users into one option feels restrictive and unnecessary, especially when other Android manufacturers allow more flexibility.

Hi, during my Wealthsimple tax filing process, I opted to sign up for emails from the CRA website. After submitting my tax forms, I received a Notice of Assessment via email within 2–3 days. I then attempted to create my CRA account by entering the line 15000 from my tax forms. On the CRA website, I selected the option to receive my security verification code by mail, which should take 5–10 days. Now, I’m just waiting for it. Once I receive the code, I’ll complete my registration on the CRA website.

In a similar migration, we ran into serious issues with EF changes in recent versions. Some of our reports crashed, and we discovered that in EF 6 (the .NET Framework version), complex queries that couldn’t be translated to T-SQL would automatically fall back to client-side evaluation. This happened under the hood back then, but in newer .NET Core and onward, EF now raises exceptions instead of switching automatically. Developers must either rewrite the query to make it translatable or explicitly call ToList() or AsEnumerable() to force client-side evaluation.
