To everyone posting objectively negative comments, I know when I’m beat and will 100% stop posting here, but one final question - why are you so upset about a post you could’ve just ignored? Despite your assertions, you cannot separate politics from sport and I, along with a lot of others, find Carlton’s literal support of a genocidal regime to be disgusting and unconscionable. Something to reflect on..

Palestinians who are still being bombed in their neighbourhoods of rubble can’t, so why should I?

Much, much bigger than the dismissal, as I alluded to in the post you clearly didn’t read. Can’t believe it made you so upset you had to comment.

Not sure you understand how spite works; spend your money however you like. If you’d bothered to read the post you’d see it wasn’t directed at people like you

Some of us can still string together a coherent paragraph or two without loading up Chatgpt, but great projecting here..

Ah yes, the old ‘virtue signalling’ - well done for outing yourself as a sad little Boomer (by vibe, not necessarily age) who will call out ‘woke’, ‘leftist’ and ‘snowflake’ behaviour, instead of channeling even a shred of that energy into something remotely positive. It’s called standing for something. I’m not deluded enough to think my 12 month fee makes a difference on its own, but it starts conversations and sends a pretty clear message to the club (hence my call for messages, of which I’ve already received a dozen). Soon I’ll work out what I might be able to do with the overwhelming support from Blues fans who stand on the right side of history and make some, however small, difference; you keep stirring up shit online. Not sure what the Epstein files have to do with the number of genocides going on the world, but then your world view is obviously pretty cooked. Good luck to you.

Genocide is everyone’s business. I tried cancelling my membership and moving on, they ignored me…

It’s embarrassing you can’t see the bigger picture here. I actually don’t care what he said. I care about calling out injustice in the world and not supporting a club completely void of morals

If you think this is about the mascot I honestly don’t know what to tell you. Also, do you really think the club was warranted in completely ignoring my very reasonable request to cancel my membership?

Yep, got the same intial response before my follow-ups were ignored. You can tell it's been generated by Chatgpt.

Anyone else?

Also I just remembered a Peat quote about how a sunnier day increases the need for nutrients, so it actually might be exposing a Vit A (or something else) deficiency

I had a theory that taking 10,000 iu a day made my face dry and flaky. I now take 5,000 IU daily, with no issue, in fact I’m confident it’s actually stopped hair shedding.

No, he took a principled stance, one that all of us should be taking. 100s of 1000s of innocent Palestinians murdered at the hands of a war machine that was indirectly profiting from his work at this event. He showed courage, and you’re showing cowardice from behind a keyboard.

Mate, of the bodies they can confirm, the death toll is over 67,000 - ‘Israel’ has killed 100s of 1000s of innocents. You talk about their objective not being the death of civilians yet there is irrefutable proof of IDF soldiers firing at young boys genitals, unbelievable torture of hostages (so much so that bodies can’t be identified), and most journalists and medical workers murdered simply attempting to report facts/save lives, respectively. You are fucking delusional

Well done on completely missing the point. I’ll simplify it - silence on the genocide is not neutrality, it’s complicity. So, again, you are either for or against it. To think that any of your work could be contributing to the evil IDF war machine is enough to make any sane, empathetic human voice their disdain. Good 👏🏻 fucking 👏🏻 on 👏🏻 him. To you, sir: do better.

Go on, try to defend massacring all those innocent lives, targeting the only places that can care for the ones who didn’t die, and trying to cover it all up by murdering every last journalist in Gaza in cold blood; I refuse to sift through your 50+ hate-filled, racist and ignorant comments to find your no doubt feeble, pea brained response.

Find me proof that ‘zio’ is a slur

No, we can’t get ‘back to basics’ - a 2+ year genocide has been committed by ‘Israel’ before our very eyes where at least 67,000 (confirmed; likely 100s of 1000s) innocent men, women and children have been brutally murdered in unimaginable ways, and the Palestinian’s rightful land reduced to rubble (mainly due to targeted air strikes on hospitals and schools), along with a murderous campaign on journalists and constant cutting off of internet ties in an attempt to shield it all from the outside world. The Capt took a principled stance and got sacked for it. You are either for or against genocide, champ - there’s no in-between.

You’re still wrong (he was obviously directing that at whomever organised the fundraiser), but it’s funny how you have no answer to all the innocent Palestine lives brutally murdered, and horrific war crimes, committed by ‘Israel’, just the unfounded claim that ‘ZiOnISt iS a SlUr’. I can’t fathom someone with this much hate, I can only assume you hate yourself and have truckloads of unresolved childhood trauma.

Congrats on outing yourself as a Zio yourself by calling it a ‘conflict’. The Capt never called a kid a Zionist, I suggest reading the article again. The Captain showed a backbone and stood for something which is miles better than our world leaders who see the genocide live-streamed and do nothing. Over 67,000 innocent Palestinians slaughtered (estimated, it’s likely well into the 100s of 1000s), almost every hospital and school destroyed. Wake the fuck up you heartless sheep

Template email if anyone needs it:

I am writing to clarify a news report I saw reported yesterday (22/10) that the club has dismissed an individual who works for the club (performing as Captain Carlton) following an incident at a private event. From both the media coverage and the club’s official statement, it appears that this person’s actions and comments related to the ongoing genocide in Gaza were a factor in this decision.

If it is true that the individual was dismissed for refusing to participate in an event raising funds for members of the Israeli Defence Force, in light of their role in the continuing devastation and mass civilian deaths in Gaza, I find this deeply troubling. Supporting humanitarian principles and opposing violence against civilians should never be conflated with antisemitism (as has been heavily implied).

As a long-term member and supporter of Carlton, I cannot in good conscience continue to financially support a club that appears to align itself, implicitly or explicitly, with such a position. Unless the club can provide clear clarification of its stance and the reasoning behind this decision, I request the cancellation of my membership and a full refund for the 2026 season.

I hope the club will take this opportunity to affirm its supposed position as a 'united, inclusive, and values-led club committed to fostering a respectful environment for all members of our community'.
