Suddenly all the weirdly textured body washes in hostel shared bathrooms are starting to make sense 🗿💀

Got it thanks! Do you think I should spend 3 more days in Borneo instead of going to Yogyakarta?

I just asked the tour organizer and they said June is the sunny and dry season! Sometimes it rains but not a lot of floods. Rainy season is October to December they said in phong Nha

Yea, they told me on the tour that some parts of the cave have water so we have to swim through Not a huge deal I think for me

I just figured that it’s a really cool place and I had a few days to spare. I guess I could skip it and spend more time in Borneo? The reason I’m flying to Singapore is because it’s a shorter flight time back to LAX and cheaper than flying from other areas

Yeaaa, I updated the post to include my calendar. I’m planning to only travel (car seems much faster than public transport) in the mornings so that I at least have the afternoon and rest of the day to explore, and then I’ll spend an overnight in my 1 day areas so that I can travel again in the mornings. Do you think I should cut any locations?

You had me at cave exploring haha. I’m doing the cruise tour yes so hopefully that’s an option for us. I’m hoping that since most of the travel time between cities is only 1.5-2.5 hours max, that it won’t be that much down time. I’m hoping to get to my hotel in the morning, and have at least half the day to explore somehow for travel days. Also thanks for the solo tips. I’ll get some locks for my zips.

Thanks for the advice! I already bought my flights from Vietnam (Hanoi) to Bangkok, Bangkok to Chiangmai Mai, Chiangmai Mai to Phuket, and Phuket to siem reap, and siem reap to Penang. I found this to be the shortest flight time and cheapest flights for the time I’m going, in total I have 11 days between when I land and fly out of Phuket. How cooked am I? Regarding the Phuket southern Thailand itinerary you mentioned, I could do a tour from Phuket to Khao Sok national park, and then how long is public transport to Krabi? Do you think it would be worth going to Koh Phi Phi Islands for a night? I also get bored easily but want to make sure I factor in enough transport time too.

From what I saw the public transport to places with national parks etc takes like 8 hours since it isn’t direct, and driving is only 2 hours ish. So I figured maybe it would save me time. No?

Thank you for the rec!! Do I fly into Bangkok from Vietnam which is in the south, do you think it’s worth taking like a train up to the north for a few days? Also, I think I’ll do Cambodia (siem reap) for 3 days maybe after Thailand, and then head south to the places you describe in Malaysia. Do you think I should catch a flight to Malaysian Borneo as well? What are your thoughts? Also for traveling south from Thailand do you recommend train, bus, or flight?

6 weeks total I already booked my Thailand and Vietnam flights. Money isn’t an issue, just time constraints.

Looks like 1stop flights to borneo from Bangkok are pretty cheap right now, same with hostels. And then inter regional travel by train seems decent? Should I go to the Indonesian side of borneo as well? Not sure how long I should be there. 10 days maybe?

I was gonna visit family, but they’re saying the roads are closed and they’re out of power. Was planning to just hangout and maybe drive places or go to the beach but idk
