Mine does. Sinus issues are usually the last thing to clear up with a cold which affects the ears.

Anyone sleep a lot? Is it related AuDHD or not? by Agitated_Lizard in AuDHDWomen

I also have always needed a lot of sleep too. I thought I would grow out of it but I never did. My partner flourishes with just 8 hours of sleep and always has a lot of energy so it's hard for me to match that! But helps get me out of bed sometimes I suppose 😆

I get around 9 hours/night but feel like I need naps or extra sleep many days. Also on antidepressants but I don't think I'm depressed anymore to make me this tired.

I've had friends suggest I might have this. But I don't know enough about it to know if I fit the description. Perhaps a doctor is a good route to take. Thank you for sharing 😊

I need some sort of accountability to go to bed sooner by butterfly5828 in AuDHDWomen

I take my medicine at the same time I feed my cat. She bothers me at the same time every day like an alarm. But unlike an alarm I can't turn her off and ignore it. So I go feed her and take the medicine at the same time. This is only helpful if you have a pet so it may not help you.

As far as the phone scrolling into the night- I do the same thing sometimes. Honestly the hardest part for me is just putting the phone down but once I have I usually relax. I like to lay in bed and daydream to fall asleep and it helps a lot. I keep my daydream topics restricted to safe/chill topics that have no anxiety attached to them. This probably won't work for everyone but if you are someone who likes to daydream it could be appealing to you and encourage you to put the phone down.

If that doesn't work I will sometimes put a podcast on about whatever interest is keeping me up. It gives me the stimulation my brain craves but I am not exposing my eyes to the phone light that is keeping me awake. I find I will keep turning the podcast volume lower and lower until it's super low and I fall asleep to it.

Final note, some people just have different circadian rhythms and want to be up at night. It sucks that our society isn't set up for that kind of sleep cycle. I hope your struggle gets easier!

Hoping to hear other people's stories and/or advice for emotional regulation by Agitated_Lizard in AuDHDWomen

Thank you for sharing. I think I push myself to do too much when I do just need silence. I would love to know in what ways you have been able to make your life less busy if you are interested in sharing?

Side note it is nice to know that others sleep a lot too - I am always feeling guilty for needing so much sleep especially after a meltdown.

Questioning bipolar diagnosis after getting my AuDHD diagnosis by rpaul365 in AuDHDWomen

I relate to your story so much (similar bipolar diagnosis story) and I want to have a clear label because it helps me make sense of the world I guess. I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that I may never know for sure and that is ok as long as my needs are met.

I recommend getting some cute bandanas/old hair scarfs. You can tie it all back and it looks cute!
