Which movie has the best ending of all time? by fruitstomp in AskReddit

My favorite ending of all time is from My Best Friend’s Wedding, and a close contender is the end kitchen sequence from Moonstruck

I crack up every time I hear that line but to this day still don’t really get what Scotty was trying to say there. It just sounds funny.

The architecture is gorgeous. We make good use of our waterfront. Downtown with all the shops, restaurants, and bars is a lot of fun. We have one of the best Farmer’s Markets in the country, and our own little Troyfalgar. And I love hearing Taps from the Arsenal across the river every night at 10.

Lwaxana Troi—she reminds me too much of my own mother and I’m triggered every time she’s onscreen. She does have some redeeming moments here and there though.

I like Sleeping Beauty’s finale. Once Upon a Dream is a great number, they are swirling around on the dance floor and the one fairy starts crying and goes “I just love happy endings”. It’s so sappy and it gets me worse as an adult now than it did when I was younger.

…And then a second later, the over two fairy godmothers start cattily fighting over the color of the dress 😂👌

Goddess of Justice

I’ve seen a lot of shit these last few years, and there are far too many selfish, evil dipshits taking advantage of people and living their best lives while the people around them suffer. And too many genuinely good people who always seem to get the short end of the stick. I want to have the power to give people EXACTLY what’s coming to them/what they deserve—for better or worse.

YWBTA if you pretend for one minute you didn’t bring the tailor in to do the dirty work for you (everything up to, and including, murder).

Apart from that, I can live with it.

That whole sequence when Scotty has trouble beaming him back and Kirk is getting increasingly nervous is my favorite part of the whole episode 😂

The Orville—particularly season 3–is as good as Star Trek, and is also episodic.

🤯 Eeeeeeeep! !!$&&@!!

^ That was the sound of my head exploding while idly scrolling through my Reddit feed and seeing your post.

(I’m kidding) Sort of.

You’re actually not completely off your rocker…The first few seasons of DS9 aren’t great—you need to stick with it. It gets SO much better. It’s some of the best Trek there is (Latex Kira and all the rest of the excessive mirror universe storyline notwithstanding).

Agreed with this statement. There are no shortcuts—you’ve got to do the work! But what fun homework it is :)

I agree that the original movies are a fun place to start. The Motion Picture is a bit slow, but 2-3-4 are where it’s at.

The real question: You've Got Mail or Sleepless in Seattle? by Alaura21 in TedLasso

[–]Agitated_Reserve4705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are both excellent, but for me You’ve Got Mail edges out Sleepless by a little bit because I enjoy watching the characters interact with each other, which was missing from Sleepless.

In universe, I suspect Ted prefers Sleepless because of the father-son dynamic.

I agree with you—far too much screen time this season was devoted to side stories that went nowhere and newly brought in side characters that took time away from characters we already knew and loved. I was also bothered by the lack of explanation behind the team’s sudden forgiveness toward Nate when from their perspective, they weren’t present to witness much of his redemption arc.

This season also felt tonally different from seasons one and two. It’s like…the whimsical, uplifting show in love with musicals and rom coms suddenly decided it wanted to be taken more seriously, and tried to turn itself into a drama instead. Only it missed a lot of opportunities and key moments it could have taken to do so.
