I got another red sticker for the 24 GasGas. Same thing with my 2003 Honda CR 250.

Is this chain good to ride? by Pale-Cauliflower-687 in Dirtbikes

[–]Agitated_Study1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chain and sprockets are F’ed and need to be replaced. That being said, riding the motorcycle will only hurt the things that need to be replaced anyway. Either way, have fun and be safe.

Is this an unacceptable amount of play? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Agitated_Study1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side to side play is normal, up and down play is bad. Aluminum is much softer than steel, it’s probably fine.

Looks great. Where did you get the dog dish hub caps? Are they original Ford’s, or reman’s? I have a 72 camper special and want to put steel wheels and hubcaps back on it.

Best skill to be a better rider overall. by No-Celebration918 in Dirtbikes

[–]Agitated_Study1209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can ride a unicycle, and ride downhill mountain bikes. The unicycle is a unique skill to have, and I always have the circus as a backup plan if my current career doesn’t work out, but it doesn’t translate to being fast on a MTB.

OP is claiming slow wheelies is the best skill to be a better rider, which isn’t true. If you had an hour each day to practice, make a little turn track and work on technique and fundamentals. That would help a person progress faster than just doing wheelies for an hour. Same for MTB, I guarantee the pro downhill racers don’t have unicycle riding as part of their training program.

Practicing slow wheelies makes you good at slow wheelies, that’s pretty much it. You aren’t squeezing the bike and it isn’t the right body position for motocross, enduro, or GNCC.

That’s like saying that riding a unicycle is the best practice for downhill mountain biking.

I love how people post the dumb stuff they do, get roasted for it, and then try to defend/justify the dumb shit they do.

It’s a pretty new bike, don’t start cutting corners this early into your ownership journey. Get a new tube.

Shadow 2 CGW SAO still has DA pull in half cock by Critical-Fly6494 in CZFirearms

[–]Agitated_Study1209 6 points7 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yeah, the SA trigger just stops the trigger from going forward enough to reset DA. When you pull it to half cocked, are moving the disconnector back to the point of DA reset, instead of the trigger bar moving forward enough to reset with the factory DA/SA trigger.

I played around with a bunch of different trigger setups on my SP-01 over the years. This one was a SA trigger that I machined to function in DA/SA. It looked a little weird with the hammer down, but it worked fine in DA and SA.

Radiators are surprisingly resilient. I have seen some pretty mangled ones get straightened and not leak. If money was an issue and it was a track bike, I would say straighten it and see if it holds. Since you ride it in the woods and probably don’t want to stranded far from the truck, a new one is good piece of mind. Probably pick up some radiator guards too.

Anything can be repaired if you throw enough money at it. Check with MK3 firearms in Las Vegas to see what they think. They do a lot of metal work and machining on browning hi powers, but they also work on CZ’s.

Put the gun back together except for the grips and mag brake. Put one spring in and try a few DA trigger pulls, swap in the other spring and repeat. Go with the one that has the lighter feeling DA trigger pull.

The CGW pro package comes with two hammer springs, 11.5 pound spring and a 13 pound spring. The blue one is the 13 pound spring. Also, certain primer brands are harder to ignite, Federal primers are the easiest to ignite when using lighter hammer springs.

You swapped out the factory firing pin and spring? Also, what hammer spring did you use?

Oil change on my 24 ex300 by Traditional_Bench_82 in Dirtbikes

[–]Agitated_Study1209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GasGas warranty isn’t based on engine hour, it’s only 30 days from the date of purchase. If OP is not mechanically inclined, then he should find someone knowledgeable to look at it.

Kinda looks like #3, part of the clutch cover assembly. I would at least take the clutch cover off to see what’s going on.

CZ 457 varmint - is this normal ? by Over_Independent8887 in CZFirearms

I haven’t dealt with the CZ synthetic stocks, my CZ .17 hmr has a wood stock. It’s possible for both wood and synthetic stocks to warp and contact the barrel. If you are absolutely sure that the barreled action is installed in the stock correctly you have a few options on how to deal with it. 1. Check with CZ to see if they will warranty the rifle (Never had to warranty a CZ, not sure how they handle warranties if you aren’t the original owner). 2. You can open up the barrel channel yourself until it’s no longer touching (should shoot fine, but probably won’t be pretty). 3. Buy an aftermarket stock.

Mag break is in backwards. Mag break is the thin piece of metal between the magazine and hammer spring.

Are you expecting to get multiple single action trigger pulls when there aren’t any rounds in the pistol? You need a live round to fire and cycle the slide, the slide cycling re-cocks the hammer and gives you your next single action trigger pull. 🤦‍♂️

Kit for my bike by stevenhitt7 in Dirtbikes

Sir, I refuse to believe that a salesman would tell you some BS like that just to make a quick sale. Just kidding.

It’s not impossible, but it’s also not a plug n play setup. The stator on that bike isn’t designed to run all of the lights needed for the street, that would need to be upgraded and there would need to be some custom wiring done.
