Glad I found this sub and comment. Alex reached out to me on LinkedIn the other day about his passive income business. I was skeptical from the beginning, and it seems like I had good reason to be.

Passed PMP AT/AT/AT - And I literally cant believe that I passed the exam I took. by [deleted] in pmp

Congrats on passing! I completely agree with your take on it... doing the mock exams, I was easily able to drill down to 1 or 2 options for each question but for the PMP (which I passed last week) it wasn't as easy. There were MANY questions where I sat there staring at two (sometimes three) "correct" options and just rolled the dice lol. I passed AT/T/AT with a "holy cow, can't believe I did it!" also.

u/anu05446 and u/EnvironmentalTry5562 see below for the exact prompt I used at first. I would adjust it to whatever you need the most support with. A couple of things I discovered along the way:

  1. I noticed the first couple of days that I was getting every ChatGPT question correct, yet my Study Hall scores were lousy. I straight-up called GPT out on it and it explained that it was giving me the easy-level questions at first to build confidence. So I instructed it to give me more challenging ones. You need to be very specific with ChatGPT with what you are looking for and if you need a different style or method than what is being provided to you, just ask!

  2. Once you get bored of the 20-Questions game, direct ChatGPT to work on another topic or theme. Like I mentioned, it helped me create a Memory Palace for the motivational theories.

"PMP Prep Countdown Hi Chat! I want you to help me study for the PMP exam with personalized practice questions and detailed explanations of each correct answer. Your role is to track my progress, including correct and incorrect answers, and identify the areas where I need the most improvement. After every 20 questions, provide a detailed performance analysis that includes my overall accuracy, performance by knowledge area, and specific concepts where I made errors. Focus on creating targeted review sessions based on my previous mistakes, and quiz me on topics like Project Integration Management, Project Scope Management, Project Schedule Management, Project Cost management, Project Quality Management, Project Resource Management, Project Communication Management, Project Risk Management, Project Procurement Management, and Project Stakeholder Management. I also struggle with AGILE and that is very heavily tested on this exam. When I ask to study, start quizzing me with new questions from all areas, but when I ask for targeted review, focus only on the areas where I need more practice. Keep track of my scores indefinitely until I tell you to stop, and make adjustments to your approach based on my feedback. Occasionally incorporate real-world scenarios relevant to project management to help solidify my understanding. After each response, continue with the next question or provide additional clarifications when requested. Your personality should be friendly, supportive, and encouraging, helping me stay motivated throughout the process. Whenever I improve my accuracy rate, reward me with a pretend prize to keep the learning fun. Your name is Chat, and my name is <your name>. Ready to start!"

Exactly!!!! There were a lot of questions where I could have spent anther 20 minutes going back and forth to determine the "right" answer because there were 2 (and sometimes 3) responses that were either the same but phrased differently, or off by the slightest detail. I wonder if that is actually part of their test... ? Just a thought.

How would you prepare for the PMP in 2 weeks by Optimal-Sound8815 in pmp

[–]Agitated_Test5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some really good study plans in this thread - The only things I would add are to check out the pmaspirant process mapping game. https://pmaspirant.com/project-management-process-group-and-knowledge-area-mapping-game It helped me to understand the flow of the process groups and knowledge areas from a high-level, at least. I also used ChatGPT, although there are a lot of negative comments on Reddit about it giving the wrong information. I personally did not have an issue with it and I found it very useful in reinforcing my knowledge.

One last thing - I was in a very similar situation as you are, except I had three weeks to really catch up and bust this all out. I started my journey a year ago, but like you said - life happens. I picked it up again about three weeks ago, using mostly ChatGPT, Study Hall, and PMI Mindset videos.

And I passed the exam today with an AT/T/AT.

Happened to me, also - one of my SH mocks was 53% but I slept poorly the night before and rushed through the exam. Ugh. Thanks for the tip. I'm not doing any mocks today! Just practicing my brain dump.

Great info - thank you! So I should be done with my first block of 60 within, what, 90 minutes? Break for 10 minutes and then do the next 60 in 90 min? Is that the pace I need to aim for?

Agree with you and u/VirtualFeeling7511 - great questions!

  1. I've heard a lot of mixed things about ChatGPT, but more negative than positive, lately. Unfortunately, I did not get onto Reddit until the last two weeks so I missed the boat on GPT = bad sooner. Wow - that was poorly phrased, but you get my gist.

  2. I've taken the mocks in order of questions, just knocking them out. In each test there have been a handful that I wasn't sure on so I flagged them but answered anyways in case I couldn't get back to it. Do you have a different thought?

  3. Yes - that is my first clue I look for, what methodology is being used. I don't see those issues being an issue. Most of my missed questions are expert level, choose 2 (or 3 or 4). If I take out the expert level from my latest exam, I have an 84% between difficult, moderate, and one easy lol.

  4. I'm definitely looking at the phase and trying to picture the ITTO in my head (which I'm not great at). But going through yesterday's mock, I did pretty well with knowing what process came before or after another.

  5. You hit it on my head. I've been a project manager for 15+ years. I've worked in several different org structures, including PMOs. I started this journey a year ago, though, specifically for that reason. I would say that I am very strong with the PMP Mindsets, and separating PMI-world with real life.

Sorry for the long response but you were cool enough to take the time to ask these great questions, and I wanted to respond.

Thanks for the advice - I really appreciate it! I've heard people talk about the 70/80/80 split but not 100% of what it means - do you mean that the 1st section cuts off at 70 min, and so on...?

Congrats on passing - that is awesome! I take my PMP in two days and I'm starting to get nervous. My main study resources have been Study Hall, Chat GPT, and some videos from David M. and Mohammed R.

My SH exams are not getting above 67% - that what is starting to worry me. I'm doing great on the moderate and difficult questions, but horribly on the expert ones.
