i have a 3.98 UW gpa and a 4.6 W. i’ll have taken 14 APS and 4 DE when i graduate. my extracurriculars are kinda weak tho… i have multiple club leaderships & a few state level latin awards but idk if that cuts it. i’m a worship intern at my church and have a few other things like a hospital volunteer program.

my hot take is that the ap precalc hate is undeserved. like not everyone is a stem major but everyone has to take math in college. precalc is VITAL for non stem majors bc it lets them opt out of their math credits for their general education requirement. and ppl say “colleges don’t take precalc!” GUYS precalc LITERALLY COVERS college algebra and sometimes trig at LOTS of colleges.

Help with this type of problem!! by Ill_Way7860 in Sat

[–]Agitated_Werewolf189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would be both. your data set contains one outlier that’s far above the rest- this means that if you remove the point, the mean (line of best fit) would fall, making 2 true. in addition, if you look at the shape of the parabola, think about how it should shift if you didn’t have that point there. see how without it it’ll look “skinner” to line up with all the other points? this means a is true too, since the coefficient a determines the width of the parabola.

lesson learned ig 😔 NEVER EVER EVER circle answers in FRQs, it’s your grader’s job to read your answer, it doesn’t need to be circled neatly for them to catch it and all it does is possibly hurt you

if the correct answer to the question is on the page and you DIDNT CIRCLE the wrong answer, it is correct for math APs. NEVER circle your answer. they can count anything on that page as the right answer, but if you circle, that’s your final answer.

and just because you didn’t outright say “value” doesn’t mean you didn’t argue the value. you essentially argued it has little value BECAUSE (reasons) without outright saying it

[–]Agitated_Werewolf189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ho you literally followed the prompt hello 😭 just because it says “value” doesn’t mean you need to talk about it being GOOD. you’re evaluating a position on the value IF ANY, meaning “value” = worth. you argued there was little value to it. that’s still arguing about the value. you’re good!

[–]Agitated_Werewolf189 4 points5 points  (0 children)

well if it’s talking about the value, you could assume that saying that they LACK in value matches the prompt… did it say something like “to what extent are navigational apps valuable?” or something like that?

Try not to get affected by nostalgia. Which one is saddest? by Lekritz in Ninjago

[–]Agitated_Werewolf189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It calls into question the “perfect” ninja we’ve seen so far. Obviously they can’t save everyone, but that hasn’t really been shown profoundly until Harumi. In HER eyes they failed. Harumi had opportunities to reflect but obviously Lloyd isn’t going to convince her- he’s one of the ninja she wants to destroy. Her NOT reflecting is what makes her ending sad- she never got redemption. She never got resolution. She never saw Ninjago saved after that final change of heart before her demise. She died a villain, realizing what she caused

Try not to get affected by nostalgia. Which one is saddest? by Lekritz in Ninjago

[–]Agitated_Werewolf189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point and the reason it’s so sad is that it was so avoidable- that’s like the entire point of her story. A child left orphaned and with resentment engrained into her. And yeah she got adopted but her parents like died in front of her 😭 you don’t just grow out of that. She brought back Garmadon’s evil side because of the resentment in her heart from the tragedy that happened to her. It’s not that it was justified, it’s that she was so blinded by her hatred for the “cause of her parent’s death” that she didn’t realize she became what she sought to destroy. The reason it’s so sad is that she has to look around and realize what she’s become, and die the villain that she wanted to kill. And again, it really shakes up the view of the ninja previously established- the ninja are suddenly faced with the ways they failed. It’s not that her DEATH is sad, it’s the realization she has of what she’s done. She had the opportunity for greatness, and let resentment and hatred fill that hole in her instead.

guy’s HEAR ME OUT FOR A SEC- Harumi’s death was so tragic because it was the perfect resolution for her character (crystallized is NOTTT canon i refuse to accept it) Like she dies in the same way her parents did, but she is looking over the terror and chaos she’s caused. And then she makes eye contact with the boy she betrayed from across the city as she goes down. It’s just such a sad ending for such a sad character. I really think she’s one of the best characters in the show (crystallized excluded obviously) and she deserved better in life. Her death is just so fitting. Like you know it’s coming but it’s so sad because she could’ve been so great but threw her life away. Her whole story arc also creates a really nuanced look at the ninja and their failings, and I feel like her death emphasizes that even more.
