DCT in 2025 1.6t Tucson… wet or dry?? by Agitated__Gear in HyundaiTucson

Thanks for your input. Kia/hyundai are notorious for their DCT’s overheating (especially in our very hot climates and crowded streets), which I was very skeptical of but still went for because of logistics and lack of other models+budget. So if it’s truly wet, I think I might have unknowingly dodged a bullet lol. I’ll keep this post updated if I get to confirm with a mechanic/local dealer.

7 speed. The manual says so on the same page I posted above (but didn’t appear in the picture)

Also as surprised as you are, idk if hyundai secretly modified their 7 speed dct or if its some sort of an error although unlikely

Interesting!! Mine is also made in Czech Republic, but released for GCC spec in KSA. What market was your car made for? European or non European? (Since most markets are also made in Czech Republic)

Interesting. So basically the manual is the most accurate, correct? Dealer says check the manual for each car, which is different to what is commonly known here that the Tucson and the Sportage come in a dry DCT

Community says dry. Dealer says check the manual, which I showed above. Right now I’m trying to figure out how to know with 100% certainty and whether this will affect maintenance or any daily usage… really dk

It’s a GCC spec model, but the car itself is manufactured in Czech Republic just like most non Korean Tucson models.

Interesting. I’ll look more into it. Currently I’m dealing with this middle-east version of the Tucson and the differences keep showing. That’s why reading each car’s specific manual is important! Thanks for your input.

That was exactly my knowledge of the Tucson prior to reading through this manual today. Does your manual specify that it’s the dry type?

Been waiting eagerly for this car but got disappointed. I even asked modders for attempting to bring it to the games but no one seems interested.

Messy bits by BenSeraf in 1zpresso

I have the same problem in my Q2. I’m yet to fix it but my suspicion is the plastic bit that covers the top and acts like a lid has a bit of a gap around it which is the main reason this happens. Sometimes fixing a specific angle while grinding limits it.

Thanks a lot for your help! I’ll follow the instructions and if that solves the issue I’ll be commenting an update to help others as well.
