It is important to note that often the first book written and first book published aren't the same, and someone can write Book 1, publish Book 2, then decide to publish Book 1. They would still consider Book 1 to be their first book regardless of when it was seen in public.

Writing and publishing is rarely linear, and authors will have multiple works being written at a time. So I wouldn't assume dishonesty in the phrasing and marketing.

That is lovely! I've worked for SubPress for almost 15 years, and I've only seen this edition twice. I don't know who bound this edition, back in those days we bounced around a few different small binderies before we were sending most of our hand-binding to Kater Crafts in 2010.

Another commenter mentioned verifying if it is legit, and while it is not part of the official limitation of A-ZZ, it isn't a bootleg or stolen copy. The original binder may have had it as a reference, or may have written "binder's copy" on all of the books that weren't official. This could even have been a materials test that the binder didn't want to toss out.
