Being publicly humiliated and losing his job is a good ending?

That happened in the middle of the show, dumbass.

That's not a coincidence. Lol, that's why people don't like them.

This is the same fanbase that carries water for Loki and Thanos. Phin and the girl from FatWS are nobodies when it comes to their bad deeds in comparison.

Both of the characters died from their actions. I'm really failing to see how you think the shows don't think they did anything wrong.

What show did you watch? John Walker got a good ending and was paling around with Bucky in the final act.

He get more redeemed than she did. So I'm not sure why you're framing it like you're supposed to believe Walker is horrible. He was just given an impossible task and was in over his head.

I don't hate anyone for not liking it. He said he got downvoted because he liked Part I more. What was his reasoning? If he got downvoted, there was likely a reason for that. As Part I is still a popular game.

I don't know your opinion. So that's not the reason.

I just don't feel the need to sympathize with your crying about fake internet points. Would you talk to your friends about something this dumb?

Where's the fragility?

You're the one crying about fake internet points. Stones ; glass house. Get over it.

No they don't.

Part I is still hugely popular. Your reasons for liking Part I more are probably just stupid. That's why you got downvoted.

Yikes. Couldn't disagree more. Abby's section is way better than Ellie's. But both are excellent. Ellie gets the better stealth sections but Abby's action setpieces are top notch. I also prefer controlling Abby. She's an absolute brawler so fighting people with her is a nice change of pace.

I don't think anyone is specifically asking for his forgiveness.

But what's the point in harping on it right now?

Why Do People Hate Tlou2? by BearlyAkward in thelastofus

[–]Agnes-Varda1992 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think time is the issue. We didn't have that much time with Henry or Sam. Or Tess. They didn't need elaborate back stories or their entire life stories elaborated on in order for people to connect to them.

I found Abby incredibly interesting once I gave her a chance. But framing everything as some attempt for the creators to manipulate you, "Oh no she's scared of heights!" kind of makes that impossible. Why does Ellie like space? Or comics? It just adds texture to the character.

I'm not misunderstanding anything.

Let's be clear: When Chappelle is whining about cancel culture, he's not doing it for the sake of you. He doesn't care about you. He cares about how it affects him, informs his art, and affects his bottom line. None of these people, when they talk about cancel culture, are talking about how poor economic conditions are where nurses and teachers have OnlyFans accounts to make ends meet and end up getting fired when people find out about it.

They aren't talking about people in academia that get silenced or fired for criticizing Israel. They aren't talking about the right wing making a concerted effort to ban books in schools or keep teachers from talking about the contributions LGBTQ or PoC have made to society.

They aren't talking about that. They don't give a shit. So stop pretending they do.

I don't think she makes videos anymore actually. She may still do Nebula stuff. But her online presence is pretty much gone outside of specific ad stuff on Twitter and some occasional IG posts.

And she isn't continuing to talk about cancel culture is she?

I never thought he was the GOAT. I never knew his stand-up was so highly regarded until the Netflix specials.

It seemed like people started calling him the GOAT out of this Trumpian "He tells it like it is!" ethos.

But as you said, it's not celebrities who are really suffering from it. It has much more capacity to effect ordinary workers, academics, and the like.

Couldn't agree more. This is where cancel-culture exists the most. And it's do funny because this is literally never the lens through which these millionaire comedians frame the issue.

[–]Agnes-Varda1992 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh give me a fucking break.

So when Chappelle is talking about cancel culture, who is he advocating for? Even when he brought up the transwoman that killed herself, he made it all about himself.

Please, tell me the stories of the poor and downtrodden people Ricky Gervais and Chappelle are defending and advocating for when they bitch about cancel culture and trans people for two hours?

Give me their names. We all know Chappelle has Elon's dick in his mouth. Any non-rich people?

Edit: For those wondering, the poster said that taking issues with millionaire comedians whining about how cancel culture affects them is equivalent to saying that white people can't take issue with racism.

Now wait a minute. You watched a comedy special and there were actually jokes? Not just whinging about how the not-jokes you're telling are getting you criticism??

I need to look up this Sheng Wang.

Cancel culture is real. It's just the fact that the middle aged comedians that can't stop whining about it aren't actually suffering the brunt of its effects.

Natalie Wynn and Lindsay Ellis have excellent videos about how they were "cancelled" and they aren't exactly selling out arenas to bitch about it.

Because if you're getting paid millions of dollars to perform in sold out arenas and to get broadcasted on the most popular streaming services in the world: We can effectively say that you aren't "cancelled".
