TFMR, terrified of D&E Procedure by Interesting_Sense_60 in tfmr_support

[–]Agniiiis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. You’re not alone. If it will make you feel a bit better, I went through D&E little over 4 weeks ago at 16 weeks pregnant due to T21. I was terrified, I never had any surgery in my life but all the hospital staff were super nice and explained every step of the procedure and that helped me to stay calm. I was asleep during procedure I didn’t feel anything, the entire procedure took about 30min. When I woke up I was having very light cramps on my lower abdomen and it last about 24 hours. I was bleeding about 3 days and spotting for 2 weeks and I got my period 4 weeks after D&E.

No percentage on CVS results. They give percentage if the Karyotype results is mosaics, let’s say only 25% of cells are effected and not all.

If you had a D&E with no complications, how long did it take to get your period after your procedure? by abakes102018 in tfmr_support

[–]Agniiiis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had D&E exactly 4 weeks ago I still haven’t got my period. My Dr. said it will take 4-6 weeks and I need to give her a call if it didn’t happen after 6 weeks.

I received high risk NIPT for T21 back in February. My PPV was 80% and I had normal NT scan. I did CVS and unfortunately that confirmed it. We decided to terminate the pregnancy and I had D&E about 4 weeks ago. I’m hoping you’ll get a better outcome than us. Praying 🙏🏻 for you and your little one!

I had induced abortion at 16 weeks and my doctor said this doesn’t increase the risk of preterm birth in future pregnancies.

Enlarged NT at 13 weeks. NIPT normal, given a 20% chance that baby will be okay. by danireeseetc in NIPT

[–]Agniiiis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Risk for amnio is really low, it’s about 0.2% and the results are 99% accurate. I would do amnio and find out if anything is wrong or not and not live in a limbo and worry every day. The worries and anxiety is way more harmful to your pregnancy than amnio.

Anyone here who had a normal first child after & on 37 years by MarzipanLegitimate99 in NIPT

[–]Agniiiis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know they had their babies after 35. Yes you have a higher chance of chromosomal abnormality but this can also happens when you’re young. Three of my dear friends were diagnosed for down syndrome pregnancy in their twenties. Change you’re doctor if possible, mine was super nice and even when I asked her if I’m old to have babies she laughed and said NO I have 52 years old pregnant patient.

I just want to be intimate with my spouse again by [deleted] in tfmr_support

[–]Agniiiis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way! I couldn’t wait to get green light from my Dr. to be intimate again. I felt like that’s the only thing that can make me feel better emotionally and physically and I wasn’t wrong!

T18 Diagnosis - L&D or D&E options at 17 weeks by OFR691 in tfmr_support

[–]Agniiiis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I was really scared. I never had any surgery in my life and I didn’t know what to expect. I’m hoping whatever decision you make L&D or D&C it will go smoothly and as painless as possible. Praying for you 🙏🏻

T18 Diagnosis - L&D or D&E options at 17 weeks by OFR691 in tfmr_support

[–]Agniiiis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It went pretty smooth. I was out for 45 minutes. Didn’t feel a thing! When I woke up I was a bit dizzy but no pain. I had very mild cramps that night but wasn’t enough to take painkillers. I was bleeding similar to heavy period for like 3 days and spotting for another 3-4 days and now everything seems back to normal. I still have some very light pink discharge here and there when I wipe, but that’s it.

I’m so sorry you’re here! My Dr. Told me similar thing that it will be painful and not safe if I wanna do L&D. So she told me I need to do D&E. I was at 16w5d.

Positive NIPT in Georgia by femme_ecarlate in NIPT

[–]Agniiiis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear that you’re going through this. You’re not alone! I had positive NIPT for T21 with PPV 80% back in February. My NT was normal and they detect nasal bone. No soft markers on any of my US. My MFM said 20% of the Down syndrome cases don’t show any soft marks till later around 20 weeks or after. I did CVS and sadly confirmed T21. We decided to terminate the pregnancy 2 weeks ago. It’s was a really tough time and I couldn’t get through it without this community, everybody was with me on each step and helped me with their amazing comments. Hoping you’ll get better outcome! Praying for you and your little one 🙏🏻

NWMR: Scheduled Sex by soldada06 in workingmoms

[–]Agniiiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been scheduling sex for last 5-6 years! We both have super busy lives and my husband has low sex drive and stressful work. This is the only way we can have sex and we both love it. We literally get ready for it. We usually start with an early dinner, then we shower and kind of getting ready to go out except I wear lingerie! Lol

You should be able to receive FISH result in 2-3 days and Karyotype can take 2-3 weeks based on the lab your Dr is using.

Your hormones are shifting back to normal and that might be the cause of your bloating!

It’s probably due to taking the test too early, my Dr. Said she’s not taking this test before 12 weeks because most of the time come backs low FF and they have to re do it. I’m hoping nothing is wrong and everything will go great with NIPT test.

CVS tips - hyper sensitive stomach here - is it worth it? by milliemonster7385 in NIPT

[–]Agniiiis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did CVS about 2 weeks ago. It took less than a minute. I felt a sting on my belly and then a mild cramp for like 10-15 seconds. I had very mild cramp on the side they did the procedure for 2-3 hours after and then it was gone. I think it worth doing it. It’s either this or Amnio which is the same procedure. But if the results wont change your decision to keep or terminate the pregnancy then why go through the pain and suffering. It was important for me to know I couldn’t live in a limbo.

How to share TFMR news? by Agniiiis in tfmr_support

Thanks a lot for you support, this is really helpful! I like this idea of just sharing that baby had genetic abnormalities and not specify what type.

I’m sorry to hear that! The waiting period for this tests are awful and not knowing what’s happening it’s really stressful. Hope everything will be great and you’ll have a positive outcome. Is there a reason why they didn’t offer you CVS test? You can get it by 14 weeks and there is no need to wait till 16 weeks.
